Funiculí

For Lluís Porqueras, designing consisted of eliminating the superfluous until an essential object was left: beautiful, useful and simple. This was the case with the Funiculí, a 1979 lamp that Marset reissued in 2013 and which has become an emblem of the collection.Lightweight, it takes up almost no space and can function as an ambient lamp or for direct light, depending on how you direct the beam. Its designer released the shade to give maximum mobility. It can rotate through 360 degrees to focus the light where you want and also has a double clamp system for height adjustment. For the Funiculí, forty years are nothing; it has stood the test of time and now comes in new colours that further expand its possibilities. It is no longer only available in the neutrals moss grey, black and off-white. The new colours – green, terracotta and mustard – are intense. They are design statements, highlighting the shapes of the Funiculí and bringing chromaticism to the space. The new shades are cheerful and vivid, conveying that colour can also be essential.

This time, we are adding a new, smaller suspension lamp, a portable table lamp, another version of wall lamp with a movable arm, and three different sizes of flush-mount wall lamps. Theia

The Greek goddess Theia – mother of the sun, the moon and the dawn – lends her name to this lamp, whose design seeks to express the beauty of light and the fascination we feel for it. In Theia, the materials and shapes are merely the physical manifestations of the underlying concept: merging both light and shadow in a single piece.Theia has two faces: to discover them, simply swivel the fixture around its central axis. It can be pointed towards you for use as a reading lamp, or towards an object or a wall, creating a subtle, indirect light. Because Theia’s metal lampshade is totally opaque, this swivelling movement totally shifts the perception of the piece. Theia’s formal design is elementary and streamlined: two half-spheres, one placed horizontally and the other vertically, which intersect with each other. These formal elements make it possible for the light from a source to be simultaneously projected, reflected, and absorbed by objects for our visual enjoyment.

The history of the Dipping Light has only just begun. Marset wasn’t willing to settle for just the two table lamp sizes it has come in so far. Its most poetic light expands its uses and is now offered as a portable lamp, suspension lamp, wall lamp and a table lamp size –ø20 cm– to bridge the gap between the small and large sizes. The colors are the same, with an expanded model line-up.The portable Dipping Light relies on a battery to forego the cable. It has a switch at the base and, like the other Marset portable lamps, features a dimmer to set the light output at one of three intensities. Small but important changes to make it completely mobile. It can also be purchased with a metal base so the lamp can be set atop a table.

Its structure is protected by a grate that revolves the light source, a touch rendering it truly original. It also comes with an accessory that allows one to hang it. Inspired by her drawings Ana Kra woven Bonbon Shades are produced using an original technique to create textured one-of-a-kind pieces. Every shade is hand woven with nylon-wool yarn around a powder-coated steel frame resulting in individual lampshades that vary slightly in their appearance and surface aesthetic. Bonbon is available in several designs and sizes as both tablefloor lamps or pendants depending on the chosen cord set but it stands on its own as a powerful decorative object even when the bulb is not switched on. Both cord sets can be used with all the different lampshade sizes and are not supplied with a bulb.

The light source comes from a tilting circular disc which can be adjusted to create both an indirect ambient and direct task light beam. The lamp body is crafted from powder coated die cast aluminium and steel and the light source is an injection moulded polycarbonate opalescent lens that conceals a flat panel of light. Noc is a universal clip light with a faceted die cast aluminium shade. Its machined aluminium stem and clip offers two points of adjustment and can be used on table tops shelves and headboards.
Turn On

A beautifully unified piece of design made from aluminium and opal glass. The base is a faceted cylinder that works as both the light switch and the stem that holds the spherical glass diffuser in place. Turning the base in a clockwise direction clicks the LED light on with further rotation increasing the lumen output. This movement built into the design allows the user to intuitively brighten or dim the light. The base comes in four anodised finishes black aluminium orange or green. Turn On is a design made at human scale effortlessly simple and pleasing to touch.
