Tam Tam
marset > Ceiling lamp
With the Tam Tam collection, Fabien Dumas shows us his knack for innovation: bringing together various lamps in one and allowing each to send light in any direction. The design features a central light source, to which various satellite lamps -between 3 and 5- can be added to project light from any angle.Imaginative and playful, Tam Tam is dynamic in its configuration and expressive in its colours. The extensive collection, which comes in pendant, wall and floor lamps, has harnessed colour since its inception to create volume and accentuate spaces. A decade later, the collection is getting an update to offer new possibilities. The glossy finishes have become semi-matte and new, softer colours have been added, including blue-grey and khaki for the central lamp and silver-grey and olive yellow for the satellite lamps. The combination of colours is what harmonises the whole. Besides colour and texture, Tam Tam has also evolved to offer the possibility of including more powerful light sources. New ideas to expand the collection, new colours to create a fresh look, new varieties to offer users maximum flexibility, and new options to improve the quality of light. The Tam Tam is moving forward in every way possible.

Tesori Monile bianco
florim > Wallcovering
East and West, a synthesis archieved through Italian taste. «My work often takes me to far-off lands, also remote in terms of their culture and traditions. Even without my being aware of it, I then metabolise these traditions and include them in the designs I subsequently produce.» Matteo Nunziati <p>"It is the architect's task to create a warm, livable space. Carpets are warm and livable. He decides for this reason to spread one carpet on the floor and to hang up four to form the four walls. But you cannot build a house out of carpets. Both the carpet and the floor and the tapestry on the wall required structural frame to hold them in the correct place. To invent this frame is the architect's second task."When Adolf Loos wrote his revolutionary essay on the "principle of cladding" in 1898, architecture was just entering the modern age. Building meant imagining structures capable of putting together different materials, but, Loos affirmed, it must also respect their individual characteristics. "Every material possesses a formal language which belongs to it alone and no material can take on the forms proper to another", the Austrian master therefore maintained. And there is no doubt that the spirit of these words extended throughout most Twentieth Century architecture, regardless of its location or style. When we look at Matteo Nunziati's designs for the CEDIT Tesori collection, we seem to be seeing geometrical purity and attention to detail at the service of a new "truth" of material. Because Matteo Nunziati views ceramics as a form of fabric.<br /> The woven patterns he imagines for the various styles in his collection "“ from Arabian to damask to more geometrical motifs "“ constantly seek to provide the soft, iridescent look of time-worn linen. In them, ceramics are raised from the status of poor relation of marble to become a luxury wall covering in their own right: almost a wallpaper, suitable however for both floors and walls, and an absolutely versatile material. No longer only for beautifying bathrooms, they can create new moods in every room of the house (and elsewhere) starting from the living-room. Naturally, the revolution has been mainly technological. The large slabs produced by CEDIT are more than 3 metres tall, and since they eliminate the serial repetition typical of conventional tiles, they generate a new relationship between the surface and its decoration. However, Nunziati does not use this to create, artist-like, a more eye-catching decorative composition that emphasises the slab's dimensions. Quite the opposite; the patterns he offers us attempt to break down what is left of the boundaries between substrates. In particular, the Arabian and damask styles, in the version with "timeworn" patterning, convey the idea of the ceramic slab as an abstract, almost non-existent material which melts into the decorative motif applied to it, in a kind of pure wall covering.<br /> Through the patient selection of geometrical motifs and tests to verify their suitability for application to ceramic slabs, Nunziati aims to achieve a new material rather than a mere decoration, making this clear by also exploring its tactile dimension, with gouged and relief motifs. His "principle of coverings" therefore relates to ceramics' essence rather than their image: highlighting the versatility which, as we all know, has made ceramics an absolute material, a kind of cement that incorporates structure and finish in a virtually infinite range of applications. This is clearly indicated by the reference to the mashrabiya, a term meaning place where people drink in Arabic, which in Arabian architecture originally referred to the kind of veranda where people used to meet and rest, and over time has come to mean the wooden gratings that screened these places from the sun. Inspired by his trips to the Middle East, for Nunziati the geometric patterns of the mashrabiya become both an outline of his method of work and the form of what in fact becomes the key element in a new idea of space: a real location conceived around a strong, livable surface in which physical substance and decoration overlap to the point where they merge.</p>

ReForm Mark of Time Landslide taupe
ege > Carpet
Always changing, the rockface resists and yet eventually gives way to the elements. Sliding, folding and tumbling into chaos, the fractures build a new structure and the seas wash the minerals into weeping colours. During the landslide, the Earth buries its face and then reveals a new beauty. In Mark of Time, the tilted, chaotic and organic elements come together to define two co-ordinating patterns, Bedrock and Landslide, that can be used alone or combined to give a soft or dramatic expression to the floorscape. Minerals including jet, lapis and serpentine have inspired the colour palette of tone-on-tone neutrals complemented by darker shades that create either a subtle or powerful yet refined look.
Miniatures Well Tempered Chair
vitra > Styling
Ron Arad is one of the liveliest and most productive figures in contemporary designs. He contrasts polished, stylish commercial design with highly poetic objects with an archaic feel to them.<br/><br/>In the framework of the »Vitra Edition« he created the »Well Tempered Chair«. Its form is not the product of artificially shaping the sheet steel but is instead generated by screwing the tensile sheets into arches. Given its flexibility, the spring steel always bounces back into its original shape. The armchair is therefore not just a brilliant formal idea but also conveys a completely new feel for sitting.

Extra long tuck-in strip All Auping duvet covers have an extra long tuck-in strip across the entire width and on both sides. This makes it easy to tuck the duvet cover under your mattress. Cold feet are a thing of the past. You can recognize the extra long tuck-in strip by the length: 200/220. Pillowcase with double hotel closure The Auping pillowcases from the seasonal collection have a so-called double hotel closure. A hotel closure is a folded opening on the shortest side of the pillowcase. With a double hotel closure, it doesn't matter which side of your pillow you use, it always looks neat. Button down Auping duvet covers and duvets feature the button down system. These are convenient buttons and loops that you use to fasten the duvet and cover together so it won't shift. The term button down comes from fashion. It literally means "buttoned down" and often refers to the buttons on the collar of a shirt that you use to neatly fasten the collar to the shirt. Auping duvet covers have loops on the inside of the cover. Our duvets have buttons in the same places. The loops from the duvet cover can be put around these buttons so the duvet can't move around in the cover. And with these buttons and loops it is also easier to make your bed neatly. Sustainable sleeping At Auping, we dream of a rested world. Of sleeping under wonderful bedding that is made in an environmentally friendly way and under good working conditions. The covers in our spring 2023 collection carry the OEKO-TEX label as well as the BCI label, which also guarantees bedding produced in a sustainable and socially responsible manner.

He experiments with it, seeking always to be surprised and learn from it. He wants to capture the essence of light. With this goal in mind, the Dipping Light was created as yet another experiment – dipping a lit bulb into paint several times – with the end result of this table lamp. The various layers of paint draw concentric circles and capture the light, moderating its intensity. The paint becomes the shade, colouring and texturizing the light. A brass o graphite base is added for support. This artisanal process will make each lamp a unique and exclusive creation. The table version doesn’t settle for just two sizes: the most poetic of lamps offers more uses and comes in a stand-alone portable version and with another diameter – ø20 cm – halfway between the small and the large versions. There is also a choice of finish for the base between brushed brass and graphite, while the colours of the bulb remain the same.

Yoko "dining"
minotti > Chair
Yoko, a light and elegant seating design; a Japanese name and Scandinavian lines that come together in a piece of furniture with an aesthetic matrix, flavoured by both cultures. A contrast in constant equilibrium thanks to the skilful craftsmanship of the Japanese-Danish couple Inoda+Sveje. The continuous cross-reference between the two cultures, their styles and manufacturing skills shapes a project composed of an armchair, a dining little armchair and a bench/footstool characterised by a dual lightness: physical and aesthetic. Delicate and sinuous lines, created with precious cabinet-making interlocking techniques that enrich the structure of legs and armrests in solid ash open pore wood lacquered with a Liquorice colour, or in solid Canaletto walnut stained Light Brown, a chromatic choice that lends a more decisive tone to the elegance of the silhouette. The wooden frame has a joint where the leg meets the armrest, both at the front and at the back: a structural joint that becomes decorative thanks to the clever use of the wooden material. In this project, the great expertise in woodworking that has always been characteristic of Nordic and Japanese craftsmanship meets the historical know-how of a Made in Italy company that has been an expert in exquisite upholstered furniture for decades. Yoko is the harmonious union of technology, elegance and comfort.
Embroidered Pillows - Double Heart 2, blue

The designer Alexander Girard drew wide acclaim with his interior concept for the legendary Miller House (1953-57), for which he personally selected each individual object. The centrepiece of the house was a so-called 'conversation pit', a sunken seating area in the living room, with built-in sofas covered in fabrics by Girard and decorated with embroidered pillows made specifically for this setting. <br/><br/>Girard's famous 'double heart' motif was used and varied by the designer throughout his lifetime. It is composed of two intersecting S's that form a continuous loop of mirrored hearts. Each S represents the first letter of the pet names used by Girard and his wife – Sandro and Susie – which prompted him to name the double heart symbol '<a href="/en-me/magazine/details/sansusi">Sansusi</a>'.<br/><br/>The embroidered pillow with the 'Double Heart 2' motif was created by Alexander Girard for the Miller family in 1975 – 20 years after the completion of the Miller House.<br/>
Miniatures Tulip Chair
vitra > Styling
The Tulip Chair is one of a series of chairs, stools, and tables developed by Eero Saarinen within a five-year period. The characteristic feature of the series is that the supporting structure has been pared to a central supporting stem »like a wineglass« in order to emphasise the uniformity of table and chair.<br/><br/>Eero Saarinen describes the Tulip Chair: »The bases of tables and chairs in a typical furniture arrangement create an ugly, confusing, and restless world. I wanted to design a chair as an integrated whole once again. All important furniture of the past always had a holistic structure, from King Tut's chair to that of Thomas Chippendale. Today, we are parting ways with this holism with our predilection for plastic and laminated wood shells. I am looking forward to the point when the plastics industry will be capable of manufacturing the chair using just one material, the way I have designed it.«
Miniatures Lockheed Lounge
vitra > Styling
Marc Newson originally produced the Lockheed Lounge as the centerpiece of an exhibition of his pieces at the Roslyn Oxley Gallery in Sydney. It was widely acclaimed and was bought by the National Gallery of Australia. <br/><br/>Its concept was based »loosely, very loosely« on the chaise longue in Jacques-Louis David's 1800 portrait of Madame Recamier. »I had this image of a fluid, aluminium form. The shape was sculpted out of a piece of foam, the exact same way you'd create a surfboard. The only way to get the aluminium on was to beat little pieces of metal into shape with a wooden mallet and attach them with rivets. That's where the airplane metaphor came from. So I called it the Lockheed Lounge.
Miniatures Tom Vac Chair
vitra > Styling
The Tom Vac Chair was first realized as one element in a sculpture consisting of 70 stacking chairs named »Totem«. Commissioned by the magazine Domus, it was set up in the centre of Milan during the Salone del Mobile in 1997.<br/><br/>The seat shell with the characteristic wave profile is based on earlier versions Ron Arad sketched for the dining room of a house in Tel Aviv. The first small series for »Totem« was created in just four months. Though it is a complicated metal to manufacture, vacuum-formed aluminium proved to be a suitable material.<br/><br/>In collaboration with furniture maker Vitra, for whom he had already produced the Well Tempered Chair back in 1986, Ron Arad developed, within a very short time, a version of the Tom Vac Chair suitable for mass production. Seen within the context of Arad's complete work, which is largely characterized by »one offs«, the chair is something of an innovation by virtue of its industrial and by extension inexpensive production. While the design of the Tom Vac Chair only deviates minimally from the first plan, the flexible seat shell of polypropylene offers a high degree of comfort.
