Funiculí

Funiculí

marset > Table lamp

The Funiculí is one Marset’s most emblematic lamps. Its design has been around a long time, and yet its style remains current and functional. Its light can be direct or indirect, and the height of the light can be adjusted with a set of clips.Heir to the first Funiculí, we offer a version with a fabric shade, a design that Lluís Porqueras first conceived in 1979 but that is only now seeing the light of day. Respecting the initial design to the fullest, only its proportions have been updated. In the fabric version, the cloth on the shade unlocks the light, allowing it to filter through and better illuminate the space. It shares the same structure as the original, so you can easily adjust the lamp to your desired height.  The essence of both lamps continues to be their simplicity, but this design is chic and classical, perhaps even more sophisticated than the original. This collection comes in floor, table and wall versions and two colours, beige or white, with the black structure.

Funiculí

Funiculí

marset > Table lamp

For Lluís Porqueras, designing consisted of eliminating the superfluous until an essential object was left: beautiful, useful and simple. This was the case with the Funiculí, a 1979 lamp that Marset reissued in 2013 and which has become an emblem of the collection.Lightweight, it takes up almost no space and can function as an ambient lamp or for direct light, depending on how you direct the beam. Its designer released the shade to give maximum mobility. It can rotate through 360 degrees to focus the light where you want and also has a double clamp system for height adjustment. For the Funiculí, forty years are nothing; it has stood the test of time and now comes in new colours that further expand its possibilities. It is no longer only available in the neutrals moss grey, black and off-white. The new colours – green, terracotta and mustard – are intense. They are design statements, highlighting the shapes of the Funiculí and bringing chromaticism to the space. The new shades are cheerful and vivid, conveying that colour can also be essential.

Wood is a great ally of cozy lighting. It is a material that is hard to mold, a challenge that the Ginger collection neatly resolves. The combination of sheets of wood, paper and resins pressed together under high pressure achieves a laminate that appears almost entirely flat, which discreetly lights up spaces with indirect light. The Ginger collection has been expanded over time to provide solutions to different lighting needs, and is available in pendant, table, wall, and floor lamp versions. This time, we are adding a new, smaller suspension lamp, a portable table lamp, another version of wall lamp with a movable arm, and three different sizes of flush-mount wall lamps. The latter boast extraordinary structural simplicity, and can be combined with each other to great effect. These two highly diverse materials – wood and metal – lend the Ginger collection an increased versatility, and even allow for a new outdoor series. There is a Ginger lamp for every lighting and aesthetic need.

Mercer

Mercer

marset > Table lamp

The beauty of the Mercer stems not only from its essential shape, but also from how its materials blend together. The transparent blown glass structure surrounds the textile shade, which seems to float, conveying a sense of airiness and sophistication. The interior fabric on the diffuser is available in two finishes: a ribbon of raw cotton, and a more modern and minimalist version in pearl white.

Scantling

Scantling

marset > Table lamp

Wood and metal combine in a design with basic geometric shapes. The Scantling is based on a highly functional and flexible system in which all the movements of the fully rotational shade rely on ball joints and arms to create a versatile, easy-to-move light. In addition, its technical precision requires no exposed springs or counterweights to stay in the specified position. The word Scantling refers to a wooden strip that was formerly used as a unit of measurement, especially in shipbuilding. Its assembly is reminiscent of a construction set, and its profile evokes a silhouette of light, an archetypal, almost graphic design. The Scantling collection includes a table, wall and two floor versions.

Theia

Theia

marset > Table lamp

The Greek goddess Theia – mother of the sun, the moon and the dawn – lends her name to this lamp, whose design seeks to express the beauty of light and the fascination we feel for it. In Theia, the materials and shapes are merely the physical manifestations of the underlying concept: merging both light and shadow in a single piece.Theia has two faces: to discover them, simply swivel the fixture around its central axis. It can be pointed towards you for use as a reading lamp, or towards an object or a wall, creating a subtle, indirect light. Because Theia’s metal lampshade is totally opaque, this swivelling movement totally shifts the perception of the piece. Theia’s formal design is elementary and streamlined: two half-spheres, one placed horizontally and the other vertically, which intersect with each other. These formal elements make it possible for the light from a source to be simultaneously projected, reflected, and absorbed by objects for our visual enjoyment.

Dipping Light

Dipping Light

marset > Table lamp

The history of the Dipping Light has only just begun. Marset wasn’t willing to settle for just the two table lamp sizes it has come in so far. Its most poetic light expands its uses and is now offered as a portable lamp, suspension lamp, wall lamp and a table lamp size –ø20 cm– to bridge the gap between the small and large sizes. The colors are the same, with an expanded model line-up.The portable Dipping Light relies on a battery to forego the cable. It has a switch at the base and, like the other Marset portable lamps, features a dimmer to set the light output at one of three intensities. Small but important changes to make it completely mobile. It can also be purchased with a metal base so the lamp can be set atop a table.

Ginger

Ginger

marset > Table lamp

Wood is a great ally of cozy lighting. It is a material that is hard to mold, a challenge that the Ginger collection neatly resolves. The combination of sheets of wood, paper and resins pressed together under high pressure achieves a laminate that appears almost entirely flat, which discreetly lights up spaces with indirect light. This collection has been expanding over time to provide a solution to different lighting needs: different sizes for the suspension, tabletop (including the portable version) and floor models, two wall versions with a movable arm, and four wall lamp sizes that are simple yet formal and that can be combined with one another. The latter boast extraordinary structural simplicity, and can be combined with each other to great effect. Thanks to a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the new portable table version of Ginger allows spaces to be lit independently with utter freedom, and with no need for wires. The version of Ginger in metal offers the same reflected, warm, glare-free light that helps to accentuate spaces. This material is applied to some models of the collection with different finishes: gold, black and white outside and gold and white inside. A new, lighter option that’s refined, almost like a sculpture. With these two highly diverse materials –wood and metal– the Ginger turns into a versatile collection, rounding out the circle and offering a lamp for every lighting and decorating need.

Fris

Fris

marset > Wall lamp

Drawing thin beams of light in a space with each one of them pointing in any direction. This is why we have created Fris, a multi-purpose lighting system, available in a wall/ceiling or pendant version, which allows you to combine several units in different sizes and positions, each one aiming its own beam of light. Its design consists of a glass tube that encases the light. What makes it unique is that the glass not only protects the light, but also provides a mechanical function, suspending the whole system and allowing the lamp to rotate and the light to be steered in a certain direction. As a result, the glass is both material and function. Through the transparent glass we see the lamp’s interior, which consists of two profiles: one includes the light source and the other acts as a parabola, projecting a crisp, intense light. This system makes it possible to compose light structures and to join a set of lamps by means of different assembly and hanging accessories. They can also function separately as an individual lamp. The other version can be fixed to the ceiling or wall. The pendant version is available in three lengths of 80, 155 cm and 215 cm and the version for ceiling or wall comes in another three lenghts 80, 155 and 215 cm. There is also a more technical version where the light is distributed in cells with independent lenses, achieving a UGR of under 19. Fris offers a very versatile and functional design for precise lighting of any type of project. An ingenious system that boldly tackles a previously unresolved issue: to have a set of lamps where each one directs the light individually.

Plaff-on!

Plaff-on!

marset > Functional light

A good design is one that lasts over time. This is the case with the Plaff-on! a lamp that has been illuminating ceilings and walls for almost ten years. This highly functional collection is available in three sizes—16, 33, and 50 cm—a matte black finish, and includes an IP rating. Its screens are waterproof, designed to illuminate any outdoor or indoor space, including bathrooms. Its white blown glass diffuser seems to float, detached from the ring that surrounds it, and its light filters down creating a luminous halo around it. It radiates simplicity, while it’s useful.

Atlas

Atlas

marset > Functional light

Atlas transforms a common bulb into a spotlight, enveloping it following its outline. Taking its nudity as the starting point, it dresses the bulb up with a transparent suit that also gives the lamp the added benefit of lightness.Made of transparent polycarbonate and a polyamide base, this directional spotlight can be grouped in bases of 2 units.

Dipping Light

Dipping Light

marset > Functional light

Beyond its function as a lamp, Dipping Light seeks to excite. When it’s on, its varying shades of paint sift and filter the light, creating a magical effect in its surroundings. When off, the colorful glass sphere is a simple object of beautiful aesthetics.Dipping Light was born as an experiment – dipping a lit light bulb into paint several times – that turned into a lamp. The result is multiple layers of paint that draw concentric circles and trap the light, softening its intensity. The paint becomes a screen, colouring the light and giving it texture. This artisanal process makes each lamp unique and exclusive. This version can work as a wall light or a ceiling light, depending on where it is placed. A design that offers a base in two different finishes – gold and graphite – and a downward light which is dimmed by the colour of the shade.

Discocó

Discocó

marset > Functional light

If there is one iconic design in the Marset collection, it is the Discocó: exuberant, even when switched off, the richness of the light emitted by this lamp provides direct downward illumination as well as a dramatic surrounding interplay of light and shadow. Its detailed study of indirect light adds nuance and also depth.Additional reflections dance off the chrome-covered hemisphere at the core, to which the discs are attached. When it’s off, the Discocó is a stunning object that catches the eye and fills the space. Available in white and gold black in 2 different sizes. All versions of the Discocó provide an exceptionally cosy light.

Djembé

Djembé

marset > Functional light

The Djembé collection is designed for repetition, creating musical compositions of light on the ceiling. A bell-shaped ceiling fixture with an exposed interior, Djembé is available in a numerous sizes and bright, airy colors that can be used individually or combined to create a brilliant statement piece.Using a rotomolding technique allowed the designer, Joan Gaspar, to design a fixture with vastly different interiors and exteriors: its outside recalls the texture of a stone, giving off a perception of great weight, emphasized by its volume. In the spacious interior you’ll find a smooth, white space perfect for the reflection of light. Djembé is a lamp designed for use in public spaces that seeks to bring beauty and an unbeatable quality of light. Faced with the challenge of lighting very large spaces, the Djembé collection is growing in every sense of the word, with more sizes and formats. The new ceiling version is over one metre in diameter, but features the same finishes as the rest of the collection. It manages to illuminate using a skylight effect, with its inner white dome boosting the light to yield wonderful lighting. Its lighting performance fits perfectly in contract spaces with a design that is functional and fascinating.

Ginger

Ginger

marset > Functional light

The Ginger collection is notable for its great simplicity of form, its lightweight appearance and reflected direct light. A design for any type of project. Available in two very different materials, wood or metal, it provides a warm glow with no glare, illuminating just the areas that need it.The ceiling model comes in four sizes that can be combined to form a two- or three-piece set connected to a single point of light. This ceiling lamp is sophisticated, almost sculptural, the most striking version in the whole collection because it reveals the hidden light source. The metal edition now evolves, and in a natural progression, appears in new colours: mauve, stone grey and sand. New discreet finishes that respect Ginger’s sobriety and add new nuances to its light. Furthermore, the colours can be combined, providing multiple reflections. An aesthetic, almost graphic design that is stunning in any of its finishes. With these two such diverse materials, wood and metal, Ginger becomes a versatile collection, so much so that it includes an outdoor version, coming full circle. There’s a Ginger for every lighting and aesthetic requirement.

Maranga

Maranga

marset > Functional light

Maranga is the name of a fruit, an imaginary fruit: exquisite, tempting, succulent. It reinterprets Scandinavian style in the essentiality of its shape and its rational use of lighting to generate a warm, comfortable atmosphere. The shade is made up of 32 slice-like pieces which fit together to allow chinks of light to escape. This interplay of light and dark generates an effect which is rich in shades of light and prevents glare, while an opening at the bottom fitted with a diffuser gives out direct light downwards.

Mercer

Mercer

marset > Functional light

The ceiling version of the Mercer lamp joins this range of lighting fixtures that stand out for their subtle reversal of roles: the cloth shade is inside a structure of transparent blown glass. The glass delicately protects the shade in natural pleated cotton or in a sophisticated pearl white fabric, at the same time as producing additional reflections. The main aim of this lamp is to give the ceiling of a room a delicate, warm glow, at the same time as providing illumination.

Polo

Scotch Club

Scotch Club

marset > Functional light

The warmth of the Scotch Club’s ceramics contrasts with the angles of the shade. This design follows a careful artisanal production process in which its shade is kiln-fired four times. But the Scotch Club collection isn’t just defined by ceramics. The different enamels created especially for this collection – white, terracotta and black for the outside and the brilliant white enamel or 24-carat liquid gold finishes for the inside – provide colour and texture. This original design draws geometric sculptures and is available in pendant, wall and small ceiling light versions.

Soho

Soho

marset > Functional light

The Soho makes a statement in recognition of those lamps that were traditionally used to light up markets, taverns and cafeterias. It is made from rotation-molded polyethylene, a technique that allows us to offer it in different sizes: 38-cm diameter for smaller spaces, 57 cm and 112 cm for large spaces. This collection is also available for outdoors, including wall and floor versions in different colors: black, gray, translucent white, sand and sky blue.

Sun

Sun

marset > Functional light

The concept of Sun is inspired by the early hours dawn, when the light of the sun plays along the horizon as it begins to appear. The Yonoh Studio played with superimposing materials to achieve this effect, creating a light with a luminous glow that is capable of transporting us to that precise moment. The light emanating from the Sun captivates the eye and helps define the space. Its design strikes a balance, drawing attention without taking centre stage. The different materials in the Sun – a metallic outside, a polycarbonate surface and a translucent blown glass diffuser – each manage to reflect light in their own way, as happens in those moments when darkness gives way to light. A metal case and concave polycarbonate dish surround the LED light source, nestled in a blown-glass sphere. Each of Sun’s different materials reflects the light in its own way, much as what happens at the exact moment when the night’s darkness gives way to the light.

Konoha

Konoha

marset > Wall lamp

For designers George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, design is about telling stories. This is certainly true in their new Konoha model, a twin-function wall lamp that tells us what types of lighting we need around us and offers all the right possibilities to make them happen. Out of curiosity and analysis, the designers have taken a number of variables into account, especially those linked to our emotions; light is arguably the most intimate element in an environment, so its design must be thoughtful, functional and purposeful. The Yabu Pushelberg design studio, which is world-renowned for its many hospitality projects, believes that hotel room lighting is often redundant. Every room needs direct and ambient light, which is why they have chosen to include both functions in a single design. The result is a simple, discreet wall lamp with a shade over a directed spotlight that turns through 360°. The shade, like a hat, covers the spotlight, allowing the light to be directed upwards, bounce off the inside and project a beam of soft light, creating warm ambient lighting. If instead the spotlight is focused downwards, it projects a beam of direct light, turning the fixture into a reading lamp. The Konoha design is available in a range of colours, with neutral and organic shades that fit seamlessly into any space. It can be used as a reading lamp in waiting rooms, bedrooms or hotels. Or it can be a point of light in walkways, a wall lamp in restaurants or a way to bring ambient lighting to hotel entrances. Konoha invites users to interact with its light and use it throughout the day, harnessing its two, or even more, functions.

Its screens are waterproof, designed to illuminate any outdoor or indoor space, including bathrooms. In the smaller 16 cms diameter version, signage can be applied over the light for hotel or contract projects.

Tam Tam

Tam Tam

Imaginative and playful, Tam Tam is dynamic in its configuration and expressive in its colours. The extensive collection, which comes in pendant, wall and floor lamps, has harnessed colour since its inception to create volume and accentuate spaces. A decade later, the collection is getting an update to offer new possibilities. The glossy finishes have become semi-matte and new, softer colours have been added, including silver-grey and olive yellow.Besides colour and texture, Tam Tam has also evolved to offer the possibility of including more powerful light sources. New ideas to expand the collection, new colours to create a fresh look, new varieties to offer users maximum flexibility, and new options to improve the quality of light. The Tam Tam is moving forward in every way possible.

Ambrosia

Ambrosia

marset > Wall lamp

Recover the traditional linestra light, updated with a decisive technical design and a certain poetic flair. That was the starting point for Ambrosia – what began as a strip light became a modular system that can be extended to fit any space.Ambrosia is a smooth-lined tubular structure; initially designed as a ceiling light, it now includes a wall version. Its warm, diffuse light fills the space, adding beauty and illuminating any project. Available in three lengths – 60, 90 and 210 cm – it can be fitted horizontally or vertically. The 24V LED SMD comes in three warm colour temperatures, 2200 K, 2700 K and 3000 K, which lets you adjust the intensity. Ambrosia started out as a one-off decorative piece for a multibrand luxury boutique in Madrid. The Ciszak Dalmas studio, along with Joan Gaspar, decided to revisit it, combining simplicity, functionality and aesthetics. A versatile, linear design, an almost flat light segment, offering surprising, gentle lighting.

Aura

Aura

marset > Wall lamp

A simple household item kickstarted the design process of the Aura wall lamp. This decorative lamp, which provides outstanding light while turn on but stands out beautifully while off as well, was inspired by the traditional glass carafe, a mainstay of households the world over. The Aura follows an emotional design, because of what glass means in the collective memory, as well as a rational and contemporary design because it draws on LED technology to achieve efficiency and subtlety. The opalescent, transparent, or coloured glass of its lampshade allows the light to bathe the wall and creates a luminous effect without harshness, while also generating a point of interest in the space. Aura comes in two sizes – 18 and 25 cm in diameter – to provide lighting solutions for smaller or larger spaces. This light and forceful wall lamp should be in ideal proportion to the interior that it has to illuminate, and the proportion always depends on the scale.

Inspired by the lanterns found on fishing boats, this collection of outdoor customizable lamps allows you to create multiple compositions. Users can choose how many shades to place on the diffuser, along with their order, position and direction. This interplay of combinations yields a rich array of direct or reflected light. Also, the Santorini collection has been expanded with the addition of two ceiling and wall versions with a more conventional attachment system in the guise of a tube structure that confers on the light a more solid appearance.

Scantling

Scantling

Wood and metal combine in a design that utilizes the beauty and simplicity of basic geometric shapes. The Scantling is based on a highly functional and flexible system, in which all the movements of the fully rotational shade use ball joints and arms to create a versatile, easy-to-move light. In addition, its technical precision requires no exposed springs or counterweights to stay in the specified position. The word Scantling refers to a wooden strip that was formerly used as a unit of measurement, especially in shipbuilding—and that is precisely what stands out the most about the wall version, the small wooden handle that allows for easy control of the shade position. The Scantling collection also includes two floor versions and one table version.

Scotch Club

Scotch Club

The warmth of the Scotch Club’s ceramics contrast with its angular, multi-faceted shade. This design follows a careful artisanal production process, in which the shade is kiln-fired four times. But the Scotch Club collection isn’t just defined by ceramics. The different enamels created especially for this design – white, terracotta, and black for its exterior, and glossy white enamel or 24-carat liquid gold for its interior – provide colour, texture, and bright, warm illumination. In addition, the wall version includes a metal reflector in the centre that hides the light source and multiplies reflectivity. The fixtures in this collection, whether in the suspension, ceiling or wall version, are as much geometric sculptures as they are lamps.

Sun

Sun

The concept of Sun is inspired by the early hours dawn, when the light of the sun plays along the horizon as it begins to appear. The Yonoh Studio played with superimposing materials to achieve this effect, creating a light with a luminous glow that is capable of transporting us to that precise moment.
