On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of DRAENERT,we are now writing a new chapter of the Art Edition.The architect and designer Hadi Teherani has transferred the cultural history of marble into modern design and has created a limited edition of the MARBLE WING.“The fascinating aspect is to subdue a rock and transform it into a sculpture, tame it to a chaise longue and bring into focus the lightness in combination with the jagged rock”, says Hadi Teherani. In this way, the architect and designer became an artist who worked as a sculptor on his design and, in the tradition of the old master-builders, created the chaise longue in Carrara marble. A chaise longue, made of one natural stone block of Carrara marble, limited to 15 pieces, numbered and dated with certificate.

A stainless steel sofa by English steel artist Ron Arad. A horizontally split and then deformed truncated cone forms the basis for the seat and backrest. The 218 cm long sofa made of only 1 mm thick, highly polished chrome-nickel steel sheet gets its stability from the two-dimensional closing of the open cut edges.

The writing desk F1 is based on an anonymous high-rise model whereby a medievalcathedral can be seen in the silhouette. Upon opening the front panel,the interior can be seen as designed in three parts, similar to writing furnitureof the late 18th and 19th centuries. The style, nevertheless, is not solely Biedermeier.In emphasising the ornamental, a clear Art Deco influence can beperceived. The desk is limited to 100 and each desk is dated and numbered.
Vertiko F2

Vertiko F2 stylistically resembles F1, other architectural elements are, nevertheless,cited here. When closed, the cupboard has a tower-like appearancewhich is reminiscent of a tall building. The open doors reveal an interior whichresembles an early Christian Romanesque apsis. Biedermeier references interchangewith Art Deco elements and Medieval motifs. The cupboard is limitedto 100 and each item is dated and numbered.

The Sternensessel F3 (“Star armchair”) is purely a mini architectural piece in which many typical architectural forms can be observed such as the conical and spherical formed Egyptian-style fixture of the arm rests, the thickened and gold-metallic base areas of the chair legs and the engraved mid and end pieces of the side legs which are designed like pillars. The star-shaped inlay work on the outer side of the chair body emphasises the illusionary, dreamlike poetic moment of the post modern movement. The chair is limited to 100 and each armchair is dated and numbered.

The chair X1 is made of black matt lacquered wood with casters, seat recess and fillet in the back. The table X2 in its normal version is made of black matt lacquered wood with inlaid natural stone top Giallo di Siena, Giallo Antico or Rosso Levanto with castors. The version by O. M. Ungers shown here is an aluminum frame construction with real stuccolustro fillings in scagliola technique.
Danseuse

The DANSEUSE- the dancer – is based on the “Triadic Ballet” by Oskar Schlemmer. Schlemmer, one of the most significant Bauhaus-artists, was a painter, sculptor and set designer. He focused on the relation between humans and space. The human figure, hereby is increasingly reduced to geometric basic forms. Inspired by Oskar Schlemmer´s work, Peter Draenert masterly created the DANSEUSE in 1996 as a decorative room sculpture in his own ironic manner. The table with its dynamic curved legs is turned from wood and lacquered using a special technique. This elaborately manufactured unique piece of art furniture is limited to 100 pieces.

The artist took his inspiration from German adjectives with this ending, which as a noun "Tisch" is the German word for "table". This play on words can be explained but, unfortunately, not be translated. Just one example: "op-tisch" could be read as "optic table".

The “Achter”-Model consists of individual glass plates for each place setting. The pedestal of the 1318-series is made of MDF veneered and lacquered in black; the metal parts are in polished chrome. The company founder, Dr. Peter Draenert, has designed, beside this table series, numerous products of the DRAENERT collection, many of them are still relevant today. Each piece of furniture should have a distinctive personal signature - an extraordinary DRAENERT line.The visionary and designer originally studied philosophy, history of art, German studies, and psychology – certainly very important features of his creative process.This table series is in accordance with the philosophical, psychological and sociological idea of modern narcissism of the individual in the lifestyle bath of the masses.People fend for themselves. They are self-sufficient, look for themselves and their needs, especially during a formal meal. It is, therefore, symbolic to separate the large table, shared by all, into individual areas and still further into individual functional areas. A traditional, general procedure has been de-familiarized and stylised to a new order.

The concept of sustainability is the basis of this design as the stones from the production process are used as resource. Every Barcode Table is unique. Leonardo

Leonardo originates from the pen of a true master. One of the most uncompromising top international designers, Professor Oswald Mathias Ungers was regarded as a strong advocate of classical geometry as postulated in the early Renaissance by Vitruvius and Leonardo da Vinci.This chair with a matching table was designed for the Baden State Library in Karlsruhe, Germany in 1988. The identical height of table and chairs and the arcs of the backrests closing towards the table top convey a picture of quietness and unity. Leonardo is made of solid beech with an air-permeable varnish and comes with a leather seat in either black or white.

The PICCOLINO is a pure wooden chair, which Palterer designed already in the 90s and modified again and again. It has a smooth leather seat and belongs to the so-called "corner stools" as they were already in use in the Middle Ages. Also in the Napoleon Castle Napoleon's castle on Elba, they are also called "fauteuil de beureau". "fauteuil de beureau", which were very common in France in the 18th century. Characteristic of all these chairs is the semicircular backrest, which forms a unit with the armrests. Also the frame set above the corner and the frontal foot are important features of this so-called corner stool.
