Fienile is also available in floor lamp versions for outdoor use, based on the same design inspired by the iconic rural buildings of Norway. Fienile Outdoor is a work of micro-architecture, with its walls and pitched roof extruded in a single, solid block of coated aluminium, while the diffuser is in polycarbonate. The outdoor version of Fienile comes in two heights, 32 or 72 cm, and two colors: pale and dark gray. Thanks to its essential design, Fienile Outdoor fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape and architectural context. The characteristic angled roof, besides being a clear reference to the archetypal form of the house, contributes to screen the light and spread it uniformly on the ground.

Peak Chair

The Peak chair, which has been awarded the ARC 21 award, is a sustainable design chair by Joost van der Vecht. The name Peak is a reference to the mountain tops that are becoming increasingly barren be caused by climate change. The starting point was to design a durable, usable and elegant chair. The curved back and seat of the chair are made of waste paper, an essentially unusable – but clean – raw material that gets a second life and can be processed into a new chair in the future. Dutch designer Mart Stam produced the first prototypes for a cantilevered chair in 1926, using sawed-off gas pipes which he linked with elbow butting. The base frame, legs, seat and back-rest were created by a continuous loop bent at right angles.<br/> In 1927 Stam had his design produced by the L. & C. Arnold company, which also featured it in their sales program for a year. Unlike the prototype, the Arnold chair was made from a single piece of tubular steel with a diameter of just 20 mm, and with walls 2 mm thick. The bends in the tube had to be reinforced with solid iron rods, and thus lacked any springiness. The chair was painted black or grey, and, with its covering of rubber or coarse fabric, had a rather unassuming appearance.

Riviera Cushion is custom-made for the Riviera Sunbed bringing an extra element of comfort for summer days relaxing. The backside is designed with an anti-slide textile that keeps the cushion in place. The cushion can be folded so it fits the versatile purposes of Riviera. The weatherproof upholstery textiles are Oeko-Tex® certified and extremely colourfast, lightfast, water and dirt-repellent and mildew-resistant. The cushion dries exceptionally quickly as the foam’s open-cell structure allows water and air to pass through. The quick-dry outdoor foam provides a firm and comfortable texture that remains the same year after year. Please note that a different version is available to meet the fire regulations in the UK market. These cushions are upholstered with FR cold foam, which is not weather resistant.

With its backrest in the shape of a perfect circle, and a sophisticated visual lightness that embraces the padded seat, Torii Nest Outdoor was conceived to meet various requirements, in terms of both functionality and ergonomics. The three types are available in the fixed and swivel without return versions, thanks to a tried and tested mechanism, a novelty for the outdoor environment.

The use of cold-expanded polyurethane makes traditional methods of constructing furniture redundant. One series of sculptural furniture objects stands out amongst the furniture designs of the »Studio 65« group, since it makes radical use of the freedom of design allowed by this new material. And the style of this furniture demonstrates characteristics originating in the pictorial arts of the 1960s: the softening of a Claes Oldenburg, the naive stylization to be found in comics and commercial art, or the giant, intoxicated dimensions assumed by 1960s objects.<br/><br/>Alongside an armchair in the shape of a pillared Greek temple and a Babylonian shrine as a playsystem for children, Studio 65's contribution to the »radical design« included a sofa in the shape of a woman's mouth. The subtitle Studio 65 gave to its Sofa Bocca: »alias lips, alias Marylin«, is a reference to the inspiration for this design and its symbolism. Salvador Dalí, to whom the idea for a design of this kind has been attributed, was quoted by Studio 65 in this context as follows: »Objects with a symbolic function leave no room for formal considerations. They are characterized only by each individual's idea of love and are above any notions of shape.«<br/>

The Major sideboard, design furniture developed by Bellavista & Piccini, has a minimal structure in wood and glass, designed to furnish different areas of the house. Wood characterizes the top, the bottom and the doors and is available in Eucalipto or Siberian Ash variants. While smoked or bronze glass is found in the internal sides and in the back panel. The entire cabinet rests on a 10+10 mm thick stratified glass base in the matching finishes. For the base we can also found the matt black painted wooden plinth with integrated adjustment and there is the possibility of inserting comfortable internal dividers, in black lacquered wood.

Tex is a re-interpretation of textile textures, entirely ceramic. The shape of the tiles consists of a simplified enlargement of the basic knitted stitch and can be arranged in three main patterns, each of which can be declined in eight different colours: a mix inspired by the design of textiles, which re-creates the feel of the different tones of the yarn. The production of Tex enhances the variety of the textures, the authenticity of colours and the quality of the glaze that, once applied on the surface, gives birth to irregular and more or less saturated light effects.

Fascinated by timeless design, designer Jaume Ramírez is interested in the archetypal table lamp in which a lampshade distributes light in all directions. This is the starting point from which he reflects and experiments to propose a new glass design, with more streamlined shapes. The Fragile lamp is a mix of geometric shapes. A cone and a sphere are arranged to hold a cylinder that emits ambient light from below.In its form, we find remnants of the past; in the material, we find emotion. The glass not only reveals the light source; it also speaks of purity, lightness and how this design blends in with its surroundings. Its structure seems to stand effortlessly, a very serious feat in which everything is in plain sight. The cylinder shades its warm, diffused and gradual light. Fragile synthesises past and present. It brings to mind hallmarks of the past such as oil lamps, which also illuminate from the bottom up, or candles; however, its designer uses the language of glass to express the fragility of the present moment. That is why this new design is intended to be a tribute to the table lamp. A fixture with a long history that, with the application of a material such as glass, once again surprises us with the delicacy of its forms.
