With this series we have reconstructed a plaster finish on our handmade majolica. Plaster work has represented the artisan work for many years: plaster can be found in every building but it is often hidden and not given the right recognition. Through our research we are enhancing the surfaces, decorating them with soft-tone enamels and giving them a nice nishing touch, structuredand natural. This collection is designed to give flexibility using different finishings and colours. "I wanted to catch an instant..." The passage of the sea waves that move on the wet sand, shining in the sun creating multiple effects breaking on the shore. There it comes an image of two different sands, wet and dry. Different chromatic effects travel between tones and colours creating a seductive effect on the hand-made glazed clay surface. The rectangular shape gives linearity and fitting flexibility to a collection made to serve architecture. I paused to analyze the bricks, used in such a distinctive way in old buildings, paying particular attention to the contrast between the colour of the brick itself and the grout line, that gives such a deep effect. I wanted to bring this back to life using different shades of colours. The richness from the past also led us to include multiple shapes like rhombus and “Cassettonati”, ending our journey through the forms of the past. This study started from the analysis of splitted stones, characterized by a “torn” and “cratered” surface to recreate this effect using majolica clay, glazed with different colors, emphasizing the splitted structure and keeping the edges as if they were cut to slice. Compact soils that under the sun dry and turn into solid and textured superfci, furrowed by irregular lines, subtle cracks, dotted with dusty shades and the traces of water that has now evaporated. The same poetry is expressed in the materiality of these terracotta tiles, made and polished completely by hand to preserve the characteristics of a unique texture. An important materiality that knows how to be both rustic and contemporary, warm and essential.   DETAILS: The CottoZero Argille Nobili collection is characterised by a particular surface nuance. The reddish-brown shade is achieved through careful manual sanding, performed piece by piece. Which occasionally preserves the accumulations of sand on the surface of the artefact. This type of finish completely retains all the characteristics of the part such as slight irregularities and movement of the edges, corners and surface; typical of hand-molded materials. A unique terracotta is born from the encounter between our finely ground clays and a particular selection of stones. The aggregates, selected based on color and re-ground in the company to obtain the correct grain size, are added to the mixture, in this way, after firing and surface finishing of the piece, the small fragments appear randomly, dotting the surface. These inclusions, of different sizes and colors; from ivory to hazelnut to orange, they enrich the surface with elegant chromatic vibrations. CottoZero Pietrame is another terracotta that comes from the experience of tradition and, in this collection, reinvents itself, becoming a precious interpreter of contemporary style.   DETAILS: The Pietrame collection is characterised by the presence of small inclusions of different sizes and shades. These fragments mixed with the base clays create random graphic texture with great appeal. The Peacock Tail is a classic majolica format reinterpreted, in this collection, through a revisitation of the format that gives the piece a sculptural dimension. The chromatic choice inspired by deep greens and iridescent blues with mother-of-pearl effects, are evocative of the colors of the plumage of this animal so beautiful as to seem almost created by the imagination. This cotto is made with precious clays from quarries opened in 1850 by Camillo Benso Count of Cavour, the same Cavour who first held the office of Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Italy. CottoZero Italia is a cotto with a natural surface, and the two colors chosen are those typical of Italian cotto. Its craftsmanship makes it perfect for all types of restoration of historic environments or for new design interpretations where you want to give special character to the flooring. The CottoZero Italia Antica version is dressed with a special irregular finish softened by time.   DETAILS: The CottoZero Italia collection is supplied with a natural finish, without any additional intervention after removal from the kiln. Upon entering churches and ancient palaces in our area, it often happens that one encounters wonderful terracotta floors. They are very special terracottas, a deep pinkish color and interwoven with small fragments ranging from ivory to terracotta in color. These cottos tell the story of everyday craftsmanship carried out by mixing the main local clays, which presented within them everything that nature offered: impurities, fragments of different clays, small pebbles... thus, what was once simply the fruit of what the soil offered, over the centuries has been transformed into a very precise material, as part of a code, able to provide us with the historical perid of reference of the construction itself. After centuries, we decided to give our historic terracotta a voice again. This cotto was born to be aesthetically akin to the cotto of our ancestors, but loaded with all the pluses of CottoZero. A unique terracotta is born from the encounter between our finely ground clays and a particular selection of stones. The aggregates, selected based on color and re-ground in the company to obtain the correct grain size, are added to the mixture, in this way, after firing and surface finishing of the piece, the small fragments appear randomly, dotting the surface. These inclusions, of different sizes and colors; from ivory to hazelnut to orange, they enrich the surface with elegant chromatic vibrations. CottoZero Pietrame is another terracotta that comes from the experience of tradition and, in this collection, reinvents itself, becoming a precious interpreter of contemporary style.   DETAILS: The Pietrame collection is characterised by the presence of small inclusions of different sizes and shades.
