The DIBBETS “TONNEAU” rug collection, inspired by the geometric fusion of an oval and a rectangle, mirrors the elegant contours of high-fashion watch designs, blending classic aesthetics with a dynamic flair. This updated version features rounded corners and subtly curved sides, enhancing its distinctive silhouette and positioning it as a leader in innovative interior design solutions. Crafted from 100% Lyocell®, a sustainable cellulose fiber, the rug is meticulously hand-tufted, with a 16 mm thick surface that produces luminous, iridescent reflections. The upper layer is composed of polyester, while the lower layer is treated with natural, prevulcanized, antiallergenic latex, ensuring durability and comfort. Weighing 6.5 kg per square meter, the rug is available in a range of sophisticated colors, including sand, oil, stone, silver, pewter, ecru, rust, dark brown, and aubergine. Custom sizing is offered in multiples of 50 cm, with a slight variation of approximately 3 cm due to the handcrafted nature of the product. In Fynn, Scandinavian values meet Italian tradition. A contemporary design for outdoor spaces in teak wood, crafted with fine cabinet-making workmanship. With a completely innovative approach, the fine cabinet-making process used for the manufacturing of outdoor wooden furniture is applied to a family of outdoor furnishing pieces in solid teak, combining sophisticated workmanship with an ultra-contemporary design. Characterised by an interwoven frame that hosts soft seat and backrest cushions, Fynn has in the armrest its signature element. Elongated and slightly curved, rounded and smooth to the touch, it is completely handmade: its precise, well-defined line identifies the entire family, composed of armchair, lounge and dining little armchairs, benches, footstools, coffee tables in different sizes and a dining table. The Fynn Outdoor armchair and little armchairs feature a distinctive ultra-lightweight aesthetic with a simple structure in teak. Real one-off pieces due to the oxidation process they undergo, which makes each one different from the others, the Pilotis Outdoor coffee tables are conceived as solid volumes of pure geometry. Their name refers to one of the distinctive architectural elements of Rationalism, and indicates the slender columns on which the airy volumes of the Rationalist buildings would lie. Both the new elements stand on four legs characteristic of the Lido family aesthetic, in solid teak wood or mahogany with a Dark Brown stained veneer, enriched by unique steel inserts with a Bronze-coloured varnish at the top. The design, which perfectly expresses the vision of Minotti, capable of interpreting indoor and outdoor spaces with the same strong coherence, is produced using clever, advanced technology and materials conceived specifically for open air environments. The frame of the backrest is in stainless steel with a Bronze-coloured varnish and covered in polypropylene cords in shades that can vary from the more neutral and traditional tones of Dark Brown and Sand to brighter ones also inspired by nature and the chromatic development of the entire collection, Citron, Blue and Petroleum. Claydon Outdoor maintains the purity of its design and its unmistakable class, enhancing its practical aspects through the choice of a material like the made-for-exterior version of Corian®, whose properties of strength and durability are well known. The base of the table is a complex shape characterized by continuous, eye-catching changes in width. The peculiarity that makes Van Dyck a timeless object is the support structure. It is characterized by a sculptural base, consisting of three 10 cm diameter stainless steel tubes welded together and painted with polyester powder for outdoor use in the Clay, Sunflower, Rust and Khaki Green colours. Enriching the colour range of the outdoor version of the iconic table, the two "orange peel" finishes in White and in glossy Pewter colour. The structure is completed by a round top in Cardoso stone or Beola Argentata. A piece of furniture with a strong personality, that can be combined with different seats, capable of giving a unique character to open-air contexts.

Quadrado "Table"

Rationalist, minimal, designed by combining different materials and textures that enhance its linear shapes, the table features the element that characterises the Quadrado family on its top: a duckboard pattern. Teak duckboard, used in the yachting industry to facilitate the outflow of water, was introduced in 2018 as a modular element of the structured Quadrado seating system created by the Brazilian designer. The table comes in three dimensions, and features a top set on aluminium legs, designed as two panels that cross it on the short side. It sports a striking Lava Stone Powder finish, generating an interesting contrast between the surfaces and the Teak wood of the top. A number of plug-in accessories, such as the candle-holder and the Lava Stone tray, mean the table can be set to match the occasion. The Quadrado table can be used in different arrangements, perhaps forming part of a domino sequence or designing a frame round the trunk of a tree, as suggested by Marcio Kogan, as always in pursuit of an ideal relationship between his designs and the nature surrounding them.

Of Scandinavian inspiration, the Fynn Outdoor table is in 100% natural solid teak, crafted with artisanal savoir-faire. The design of the Fynn Outdoor dining table spontaneously originates from the design of the chairs and armchairs, for an outdoor space in harmony with the seats. Smooth, soft to the touch, with no rough edges, the structural and lateral parts of the table reiterate the elongated and slightly curved design of the wooden armrest, which characterises the family of seats. The rectangular top, made of wooden staves, is available in two sizes. With an extremely lightweight look, emphasised by its simple structure, Fynn Outdoor is a table that becomes the protagonist of any outdoor dining space.

Of exceptional architectural appeal, and designed for outdoor living spaces, the Terrace table has a strong contemporary vibe, and a frame of slightly retro inspiration. It associates shapes from the past, in the design of the legs, with current day technology, used to create the cast aluminium frame. A table that expresses all the force of an architectural element, available in four sizes, three rectangular and one round, making it suitable for use in different spaces, from city verandas to larger garden settings. The 2021 version of Terrace presents the rectangular top in solid teak with a natural finish, and frame and legs varnished in White. The new entry complements the original version, sporting a top in stone-look ceramic, and available in two different shades: Stone Brown and Marble Grey. The frame and legs are varnished in Pewter colour to match the Stone Brown top, or White to match the Marble Grey top.

Aston is a family of individual pieces, including a sofa, a daybed, armchairs, footstool, chairs and stool in two heights – 101 cm and 114 cm – custom-designed to furnish homes and “public spaces” with style and elegance, allowing the conversation to continue between indoors and outdoors. The Aston “Cord” Outdoor collection comes with a pewter colour polyester-painted stainless steel frame specially treated for exterior use, as are the padded cushions, which are covered in waterproof fabric. The seat back is in a special braided 7 mm diameter polypropylene cord, available in the following colour variations: Light Gray, Dark Brown, Sand, Sunflower, Khaki Green and Rust, a perfect match for the fabrics in the Art Lifescape 02 textile collection and the shade of Alison “dark brown” outdoor. The painted stainless steel frame is finished with a special polyester paint for exterior use in Pewter colour and the seat back is in a special braided polypropylene cord, available in two colour variations: light grey and dark brown. The Tape family of seats, which made its début in 2018, naturally evolves, incorporating items for the outdoor environment that maintain the undeniable elegance of the forms and concepts of the design, and add a few welcome variants that embrace the concept of outdoor living. The seats become deeper, larger and more relaxing, while the metal frame, in a new outdoor finish, is covered with the wicker-effect cords available in two colours: Mud and Liquorice. Here, the couture detail of Tape - the piece of ribbon that holds the feet on to the body - takes the form of a metal plate in Bronze colour, a finish that is the leitmotiv of all the outdoor seats of the 2019 Collection. The system offers many elements, ideal for creating relaxation areas also in small outdoor spaces or on urban rooftop terraces: from the armchair to the sofa, from the Paolina chaise longue to the original couch open at the back, from the chair to the coffee tables, up until the stool in two heights of 102 and 115 cm, in the collection from January 2020. The Daiki seats, born out of the Brazilian architect’s passion for Japanese culture, go outdoors, where the open-air space is conceived and experienced as an extension of the indoor living area: a veritable tribute to Japanese design culture. The Daiki family includes armchairs with a deep seat, available both with and without arms, a dining little armchair and a footstool. Created using sophisticated wood crafting techniques, the curved shell in solid teak comprises two elements joined at a 45° angle, with a sloping backrest that guarantees maximum comfort. In the outdoor version the shell offers a snug fit for the stitched cushions, and is set on a stainless-steel frame with Bronze-coloured varnished polished legs. A design that also explores and reinterprets the American Mid-Century atmospheres, injecting new life into the style of contemporary outdoor furnishing with its clean, bold lines, exquisite teak working technique and balanced proportions.

Designed for indoor environments in 2020, Torii Nest migrates to open-air living spaces, in the armchair, lounge and dining little armchairs versions. With structural details linked to Japanese tradition, the seats play with round edged volumes, thin profiles and the apparent formal simplicity of an extremely intricate design. The varnished tubular stainless steel frame of the backrest is covered in woven cord in the shades Ecru and Dark Brown, sporting a design inspired by Vienna straw, but with a larger mesh. It sits on a base in natural teak or Dark Brown stained mahogany, supported by aluminium legs with a polished, Bronze-coloured, anti-touch finish. With its backrest in the shape of a perfect circle, and a sophisticated visual lightness that embraces the padded seat, Torii Nest Outdoor was conceived to meet various requirements, in terms of both functionality and ergonomics. The three types are available in the fixed and swivel without return versions, thanks to a tried and tested mechanism, a novelty for the outdoor environment.

The Lido family, by the GamFratesi studio, is a design that perfectly expresses Minotti’s will to create a single design for different indoor and outdoor environments: the technology and material that go into the pieces define their intended use. The Lido Cord Outdoor family is composes of a semi-curved lounge sofa, a linear two-seater sofa, an armchair, a dining little armchair and a lounge little armchair, with an enveloping design reminiscent of a comfy nest, also complemented by a bench and an ottoman. The frame of the backrest is in Bronze-coloured painted stainless steel, and it is covered with polypropylene cords in tones that can span from the more traditional shades of Sand, Dark Brown and Black, to brighter shades such as Citron, Dark Blue and Teal. All colours - with the exception of Black, which gives the piece character and a strong identity- related to images of faraway landscapes that bring freshness to this family of outdoor furnishing pieces with a look inspired by the 1950s. The semi-curved lounge sofa, in particular, is characterised by a Bronze varnished aluminium base with polished anti-touch finish, the ultimate distinguishing mark of its bold sculptural look: on one hand it offers a formal seat, on the other its depth is extended, becoming a bergère, with backrest in the shape of a soft nest. The Yoko seat evolves to become the Yoko Cord Outdoor project by Japanese-Scandinavian duo Inoda+Sveje, composed of an armchair, dining little armchair, bench footstool - with and without upholstery - and coffee table with top in Basaltina stone, all with a natural teak frame. The seat and backrest are strung with Ecru or Dark Brown polyester cord on which the soft cushions, upholstered with fabrics from the 2022 Textile Outdoor Collection, rest. The seat and the top of the bench footstool are strung with a balanced weave that gives the natural allure of handcrafted workmanship in line with the classic principles of stringing; a special teak frog feature has been applied in continuity with the finish of the frame to better secure the cushions to the seat and the backrest. A Bronze detail adorns the wooden frame of these furnishing pieces, embellishing them yet maintaining their silent elegance intact: it is a particular joint, located between the frame and the rear vertical legs whose coupling is enhanced by a varnished Bronze colour button.

The band which, in the original design, outlines the silhouette of the volume recalling the shape of a belt, in its outdoor version becomes a corded contour in the colours Sand and Dark Brown, covering the polished Bronze steel frame. The seats rest on a matt varnished aluminium base, in the shades of Ecru and Dark Brown, reiterating the colours of the cord, and feature padded cushions with extra-durable polyurethane foam inserts, covered in water-repellent fibre and fabric. The Belt Cord Outdoor family is composed of a two-seater sofa, bergère, armchair, footstool, lounge armchair and dining little armchair, all also available with natural finish teak legs. With a more classic feel and a warmer aesthetic, this version can be easily combined with all the other furnishing pieces in the outdoor collection.

Having explored the use of woods, such as iroko and teak, with Patio, designed by Italian-Danish studio GamFratesi, Minotti proposes an unexpected mix of different materials: aluminium, wood, stone, cord. The outdoor seating system, with its highly versatile modularity, is conceived as a dynamic mosaic, composed of tesserae in simple geometric shapes, which can be pieced together as desired, and reconfigured to suit the available space and the mood to be created. The design of the sofa base structure enables the back elements to be arranged in various set positions all along the perimeter, to design conversation, relaxation, and vis-à-vis areas, spacing out the seats with coffee tables, and complementing them with ottomans and benches. A solution capable of meeting the requirements of both small metropolitan terraces, and extensive outdoor spaces, thanks to the two depths: 83 and 98 cm. The variety of potential compositions becomes even more interesting when the selected materials are masterfully combined: the extruded aluminium base with matt finish in the shades of Ecru and Dark Brown is accompanied by steel backrests, covered in woven polypropylene cord in the same shades, according to a Scandinavian-type geometric design. Some of the seating elements feature a handy tray in Dark Brown stained solid mahogany or in natural teak, with grooves for draining water, attached to the structure. Patio offers an interesting range of furnishing accessories, from coffee tables with top in brushed fine-grain Basaltina stone, benches, and square and rectangular ottomans with extruded aluminium base, in a creative mix of materic textures and sophisticated, natural colours. The system offers a rich variety of sofas in different measurements and configurations, in addition to central and end units, armchairs, loveseat, sunbeds and double daybeds. All the elements share the same feet and the same joints at the back in die-cast aluminium, varnished with a refined polished, anti-touch Bronze finish.

At that time, slotting and folding as well as supports were used to ensure that the cardboard could bear sufficient weight. Nevertheless, cardboard furniture hardly had a chance against plastic furniture, which was equally light. <br/><br/>Frank O. Gehry discovered a process which enabled cardboard furniture to be made in massive blocks – cardboard sculptures, as it were. »One day I saw a stack of corrugated cardboard in my office; it was the material I used to build my architectural models. And I started playing around with it, gluing it together and then cutting it into shape with a handsaw and a pocket-knife«. Gehry called the material made of corrugated cardboard glued in layers that ran at right angles to each other »Edge Board«. In 1972 he brought out a series of extraordinarily stable cardboard furniture called »Easy Edges«.

The club chair B3, known today as »Wassily« was also created in connection with this renowned institution. lt is the first piece of seating furniture in the history of design to be made from seamless, precision-drawn tubular steel. lts transparency and visible structure are expressions of the stringent aesthetic approach that prevailed in architecture and design following World War I. <br/><br/>Marcel Breuer replaced the massive upholstered corpus of the traditional club chair with a skeletonlike construction made out of bent steel tubing, thereby overcoming the physical weightiness of conventional seating. He exploited the elasticity of the material, complementing it with tautly stretched fabric strips of reinforced canvas for the seat and back. The B3 did not acquire the name »Wassily« until the beginning of the sixties, when the Italian furniture producer Dino Gavina purchased the manufacturing rights: Marcel Breuer had designed the armchair for the house of the painter Wassily Kandinsky, who taught at the Bauhaus from 1922 until 1933.
