Description

The German steel/enamel specialist Bette is bringing the subject of opulence back to the bathroom in a new and surprising way with the design concept of a bath clothed in fabric Steel/enamel specialist Bette and the Tesseraux + Partner design studio have set themselves the target of redefining opulence in the bathroom. The company's design concept of a bath that combines robust steel/enamel with homely fabric creates unfamiliar associations and brings a new sensuousness to the bathroom. Fabrics only ever used to be a bathroom topic in relation to towels, curtains or mats. As we already know from our living rooms and bedrooms, fabrics play a vital role in the coziness and atmosphere of a room. So it is all the more surprising that the renowned German steel/enamel specialist Bette has now, together with the designer Dominik Tesseraux (Tesseraux + Partner, Potsdam, Germany), set out to re-explore the sensuous quality of fabric in the context of the bathroom. This has been made possible by a new generation of functional fabrics that are just as appealing as those used in the living room, but which are also extremely robust, easy-care, and water, mould and climate resistant. The main use for these fabrics so far has been in the latest outdoor furniture; now the Bette design concept is demonstrating the possibilities that this opens up in the bathroom as well. In the bath shown, the bath body was made quite traditionally from fine steel/enamel, while the bath apron was cushioned and covered with woven fabric by the fabric specialist JAB Anstoetz in their Bielefeld workshops – just like a cosy sofa. The BetteLux Oval Couture line elevates the bathroom fitting to a lifestyle object. The first fabric-coated baths and washbasins bring comfort into the bathroom and bathroom comfort into your home. The body of these baths and washbasins is manufactured conventionally from enamelled titanium steel, yet the surround is made from woven waterproof and climate-resistant fabric. The unique advantages of enamelled titanium steel are elegantly fused with the feel of fabric and a cosy look.The designs of the BetteLux Oval Couture line comprise a free-standing bath and free-standing washbasin, available in four different colours of fabric.
