The matter surface is the one that is normally revealed, but only by going deeper can we fully understand the processes and forces that generated it. Lava is molten rock that has been expelled from the interior of a planet onto its surface. Lava may have erupted on land or underwater. The word Lava comes from Italian and is probably derived from the Latin word labes, which means a fall. Lava stool is made of Lava rocks from the Etna volcano on the island of Sicily, Italy, one of the world’s most active volcanoes with eruptions occurring beneath the sea since about 500,000 years ago. During submarine eruptions, the molten magma meets the sea, and its violent encounter with water sculpts the rock into fluid, organic forms that seem to freeze movement itself. Each fragment thus carries within it the memory of that encounter — a fleeting instant of transformation made eternal. The rocks seem frozen and suspended in an infinite cosmic moment, like a sort of underwater cross section that has flung open the doors to this ancestral activity of the Universe, in all its majesty and wonder. Lava is a meditation on terrestrial matter with its gaze turned toward the cosmos, where time solidifies into stillness and energy becomes reflection. The natural stone surface is left uncovered, revealing the tactile power of the material — its density, its silent strength, its primordial warmth. Each fragment tells of the slow cooling of magma, the transformation of chaos into form, of fluid fire turned solid and eternal.
SURFACING TRUNK Stool / Side Table

Surfacing Trunk Stool is crafted from discarded sections of dead trees, sourced from the wetlands of the Italian Dolomites. Its natural bark surface, still bearing mosses and tiny native plants, is preserved in a transparent resin that recalls the still water of its habitat. By filling the irregular cavities with resin, alcarol doesn’t only restore structure, it freezes a moment in time, just before nature’s cycle would reclaim the material. What was once overlooked becomes a quiet presence, holding the memory of a forest floor immersed in silence and slow decay. This is not just a stool, but a fragment of territory surfacing from below, suspended between end and rebirth.
CHIMENTI RIVER Table

The Chimenti Table is born from planks of Venetian Bricole oak — ancient poles that have stood for decades in the Lagoon, their edges shaped by tides, carved by salt, and marked by the slow work of time and marine life. In the traditional language of Venetian shipwrights, chimenti are the narrow gaps between the hull planks of a vessel, once sealed by skilled caulkers with oakum and colofonia — a clear natural resin. Reinterpreting this ancient craft, alcarol fills only the empty spaces within the wood with a transparent resin that embodies the water it once lived in, preserving the traces of air and light suspended beneath the surface. Through this process, the table becomes a tangible section of the Venetian Lagoon — a vision of the underwater landscape made still, where motion turns to clarity and time seems to rest. The Chimenti Table is more than a functional object: it is a fragment of Venice itself, sculpted by water and history, now rendered eternal in its final, translucent layer — a dialogue between material, memory, and light.
BENT RIVER Console

The Bent River Console is born from a single plank of Venetian Briccola oak, carved and bent so fluidly that wood seems to flow like water. The plank rises, bends, and returns to earth, tracing a silent current that crosses space. Its natural edges — eroded by salt, tides, and time — remain intact, lending the piece an organic character. Where voids exist, a transparent resin fills them, mirroring the lagoon water that once caressed the wood. The resin captures suspended air bubbles and light, as though freezing the movement of a submerged river within the console. In its essence, the Bent River becomes a sculpted watercourse — a bridge between verticality and horizontality, between gravity and flow. It evokes a living river carved from a single wood flow, preserving a fragment of Venice’s underwater geography in stillness and light.
ANCHOR Stool

alcarol’s craft begins with sectioning — cutting through matter, time, and memory to reveal what lies beneath the surface. The very foundations of Venice rest upon thousands of oak poles, driven deep into the lagoon’s caranto layer, a compact bed of clay and sand. Immersed for decades, these timbers are slowly sculpted by Teredo Navalis, tiny marine organisms that trace delicate constellations of holes across the surface. Their patient work consumes the outer layers yet leaves the core untouched, creating a dialogue between erosion and endurance, fragility and strength. When replaced, these poles — vessels of salt, life, and history — are recovered and entrusted to alcarol. For the making of Anchor, the studio immersed itself in the waters of Venice, studying the silent world where these timbers were formed. The project captures the idea of a submerged cross-section — a fragment of the lagoon brought to light, preserving the quiet life beneath the surface. Through an intricate process, alcarol fills only the voids within the wood with transparency, trapping the breath of water and restoring the timber to its original vitality. Each section reveals the poetry of contrasts: air and depth, decay and resilience, motion and stillness. Through touch and sight, Anchor invites us to transcend the ordinary perception of place — to see Venice not as it appears above water, but as it endures below.
BENT Bench

The Bent Bench is born from a single plank of Venetian Briccola oak, its form gently rising, bending, and returning – an elegant gesture that spans space like a silent wave. The live edges, sculpted by salt and time, remain intact, while resin bands frame and protect the delicate margins, embracing the wood in a translucent sheath that echoes the lagoon’s flow. Through a refined process, wood grain meets seamlessly at corners, and resin flows uninterrupted with no visible seams, bestowing a purity of form. The bench becomes a continuous ribbon of memory and matter, where every curve is a whisper of water and wood in quiet conversation. This bench is more than seating: it is a passage between vertical and horizontal, a moment of Venice frozen in bending line. It invites touch, sight and stillness, as if holding space for the silent tides that shaped it.

Developed starting from a simple square volume, the Solid family of complements reveals great versatility through its clean and simple shapes. The Solid family hosts elements with different shapes and functions. With their square forms and cubist style, their bold personality adds a distinctive touch of flair to residential and Hospitality interiors. They range from the parallelepiped volume, which is tall enough to be set alongside a dining table as an additional seat, to coffee tables for holding or storing objects, and nightstand for the sleeping area. The rich ensemble is completed by the console table, which sits on metal blade-like legs with a Black-Nickel finish. Some Solid coffee tables are equipped with drawers, featuring an open Moka oak and a push & pull opening system. Coffee tables that offer useful storage solutions, featuring drawers with a perfect aesthetic that almost makes them imperceptible. The Solid coffee tables, in all sizes, are available both in the glossy lacquered version in the colours Corten, Muschio, Petrolio and Moka and in the open-pore ash finish in Moka colour. Some of them are useful storage elements thanks to drawers, with interior in Moka-coloured ash and push & pull opening, almost imperceptible by the eye thanks to their perfect aesthetics. This version also comes in saddle-hide, crafted with the same technique used in fine leather luggage-crafting, where every side is trimmed with precise stitching along the edges that enhance the preciousness of the furnishing element as a whole.

The Lelong coffee tables, inspired by the lightness of Scandinavian design, have thin tubular legs in Black Coffee finish with polished Pewter tips supporting lacquered, wood or marble tops. The Lelong family boasts an extensive range: a full series of different sizes and finishes with square, round and rectangular tops that make it particularly versatile and suitable for use as a coffee table, side table or console. The coffee table design also includes a version with two staggered shelves of different heights that intersect to create a sculptural piece of furniture with multiple possibilities of use. Its slender, light design offers an ideal contrast when set alongside the more generous volumes of the Horizonte seating system by Marcio Kogan / studio mk27 and the Goodman seating system by Rodolfo Dordoni: a balance of shapes and proportions that makes the living space even more dynamic and elegant. In the single-top version, the top is available in Cappuccino, Moka, Chestnut, Army Green, and Malachite polished lacquered finishes, in Canaletto walnut stained Dark Brown or in Liquorice open-pore lacquered ash; in the double-top version, the lower top comes in the same finishes as the single top version, while there are three alternatives for the higher top: Liquorice-coloured ash, Calacatta marble with smooth matt finish or in various lacquered finishes.
