The preparatory drawing for a rug, designed by Albers at the Bauhaus and now preserved at MoMA, is translated into a pared-down geometric composition, in which glossy and matt surfaces alternate on a panama weave construction. Colour, form, proportion and rhythm catch the onlooker's attention and span the textile space, while textural variations, consisting of silky yarns, technical raffia and wool, enhance the geometric precision. A lampas characterised by the arrangement of diamond stitching, which, as early as the late Seventeenth Century, defined the rich decorative fabrics, the delicate lace decoration which encircles a flower, berry and tropical fruit centerpiece, a trace of which remains, dates back to the subsequent century. The textile documentation from which it draws inspiration is attributed to historians in Spitalfields, a London suburb, which, from the Seventeenth to Eighteenth Century boasted thriving textile production, producing items for the Court and English aristocracy. A twist of eclectic more common or more exotic visual patterns which recall ancient times, which come together to tell a whole new story. Available in three colours, it is a textile which can be used for curtains or for decorative elements.

Designed by Anni Albers, woven by Dedar<br><br> The preparatory drawing for a rug, designed by Albers at the Bauhaus and now preserved at MoMA, is translated into a pared-down geometric composition, in which glossy and matt surfaces alternate on a panama weave construction. Colour, form, proportion and rhythm catch the onlooker's attention and span the textile space, while textural variations, consisting of silky yarns, technical raffia and wool, enhance the geometric precision. Available in three warm colour variants, it has a bulky hand and is ideal for upholstery and panels. In collaboration with The Josef & Anni Albers Foundation.

A pictorial gesture is expressed with striking effect on an elaborate jacquard. A soft texture contrasts with the metallic chain stitch composing the pattern: a natural shade of gold adds a precious touch to the rippled textural surface. Irregular effects contrast with the full soft hand: a mere touch reveals the pronounced contrast between metal and caressing chenille. Ideal for upholstery.

A sequence of quadrangular dots forms a cosmography waiting to be deciphered. On a canvas weave of hand-spun and hand-woven matka silk a constellation sparkles softly: it invites us to undertake a journey through the heavenly realms, as the stars in the sky used to suggest mythical figures and show navigators their route to follow. The silver colour of the screen printing leaves its mark on the ivory ground of <a href="/gabor/">Gabor</a>. Soft and drapey, this fabric lends itself to curtain-making.

This abstract flower motif inspired by the historical archives has been realized on a striped base and has been achieved from special weaves with floated wefts and fil coupé technique which recreate the retro effect of a jacquard fabric. A review of the Dalie Papaveri and Tulipani drawing, Hana-Bi maintains the approach fresh, ensuring the retro of the fabric is the true protagonist.

A multi-coloured lampas brocade with a rich jacquard pattern inspired by the romantic floral style and the fashion known as Japonism: all of which is reinterpreted in a contemporary key. Thanks to traditional screen printing, it is transferred to the matt ground of <a href="/millais/">Millais</a>, a compact Panama weave of British wool and Belgian linen. It's a scenario poised between mystery and oneiric apprehensions worthy of Rousseau le Douanier and Art Deco influences. The twofold nature of this fabric is revealed in an encounter between a warm and cosy velvet and the fragmented line of the pattern, which sculpts the luminous metallic ground like a delicate bas relief. Flexuous lines in soft velvet, formally reminiscent of 20th century avant-garde art movements, interweave a three-dimensional motif of great impact on a textured and irregular ground. The finishing process brings out the flock of the long-fibred Egyptian makò cotton, confers plumpness to the pattern and an extremely soft touch to the pile, in contrast with the coarser ground.
