He has over the years in an uncompromised fashion challenged the traditional conventions of subject matter, shape, finishings and special treatments as a result of painstaking research that includes vintage treatments, intricate surface compositions and even natural erosion – methodologies that further blur the distinction between art and design. Calle Henzel has collaborated with some of the most prominent names and foundations in contemporary art. His designs has been exhibited at prominent venues such as MOCA, Katonah Museum of Art, Boca Raton Museum of Art, Rossana Orlandi Gallery and The Goss-Michael Foundation.

Colour, form, mood. Matter that gives substance to unique, unrepeatable shades, compact and yet multi-faceted, resin takes the form of surfaces moulded into constantly new waves and corrugations by the skilled hands which applied them. Pigmento is thus the outcome of a complex set of inputs of colour and substance: it is an ultra-realistic, technically impeccable project comprising 9 colours, available in both standard thickness porcelain stoneware and large slimline slabs. It is a collection that strikes a perfect balance between minimalism and a love of decoration, between sharply three-dimensional textures and wallpaper effect slabs. Here, the designs’ artistic character is enhanced by the exaggerated proportions, right up to an oversize scale that once again reveals the vitality of the colour and the materials’ expressive power.

Portland Stone becomes an architectural finish with unbeatable aesthetic and technical properties. Portland Stone takes a fresh look at a very ancient limestone, as Ergon successfully offers the contemporary design world the ancestral strength of a material that has survived geological eras with its charisma intact. The five shades – Sand, Talc, Ash, Lead, Anthracite – offer different readings of the natural material with a highly versatile aesthetic. Tiles are available in two main versions, inspired by two stone cutting methods: Cross-Cut, for a mottled look with main shade variations and distinctive details; and Vein-Cut, for an elegant, immaculate striped effect. There is also the very visually striking Lines decor with a three-dimensional look, completing a dynamic, versatile design toolkit. The two finishes, natural and bush-hammered, combine to interpret different aesthetic tastes and meet every technical requirement.
