Both motifs have long been part of the visual vocabulary of Fornasetti, already appearing in the 1950s on porcelain and decorative objects. It is Barnaba Fornasetti, however, who brings them together for the first time into a single, almost hypnotic composition—creating a scene that feels as though it has emerged from the collection of an entomologist. Proudly made by hand in India, this 100% wool rug is crafted using the dhurrie technique on a horizontal loom, where colored wefts are manually interlaced into the warp to form a flat, graphic surface.
