The Middleweight sofa captures the best of two worlds, the Italian super lounge sofa on one side and the compact Danish box sofa on the other. Set on a thin, open steel frame, the cushions are firmly held together by zippers and carefully mitered in the corners of the frame, resembling the sharp edges of folded paper. Middleweight is a luxuriously comfortable sofa, available as an arm-chair, 2-seater or 3-seater sofa and pouf. “This was my first sofa design, but actually the biggest surprise didn’t come until the product was finalized – when we stood there, looking at the actual sofa, and it looked exactly like what I had in my head. It is a great satisfaction as a designer. You can’t accelerate the process of design. An idea has to come when the time is right, so you have to stretch the process as long as possible and allow for enough time to get the ideas and experiments across.”

WETLAND Console

A wetland is an ecosystem rich in water — a place where, under certain conditions, organic materials such as wood can be preserved for millennia. In some alpine regions, ancient fossil deposits are found buried in riverbeds: trunks once swept away by currents and slowly covered by layers of sand and gravel. In their oxygen-poor rest, a semi-fossilization process begins. Subterranean waters bind minerals and iron with the wood’s tannins, naturally tinting it in tones that range from golden brown to deep black, where each grain becomes a chromatic landscape. The fossil wood used in this piece is an oak from the Iron Age, dated to the 5th century BCE by radiocarbon analysis — rediscovered and carefully dried after centuries of immersion. Like the water that once protected it, alcarol’s transparent resin embraces the ancient wood, preserving its uniqueness and allowing the eye to perceive its original energy. A transparent vertical pillar pierces and sustains the wooden surface, in an almost anti-gravitational gesture. This crystalline column becomes both structure and symbol — a luminous axis of equilibrium that links the weight of the past to the clarity of the present, transforming material memory into suspended light. The Wetland Console thus embodies the dialogue between permanence and transience — between what is buried and what endures, between water and time.

Skill Diamond is a flame retardant coated fabric made for residential and contract upholstery. Skill Diamond is produced by a smart geometrical design, achieved through a technique typical of quilting industry. Its polyurethane foam padding gives to Skill Diamond the particular threedimensional aspect. Its quilted surface shows a characteristic matt-grain surface similar to real leather, in a range of colours all on stock. Skill Diamond perfectly combines with the plain version Skill to be used as high resistant covering material.

Pop is a polyester fabric entirely manufactured and tested in Italy that has been studied for the upholstered furniture sector. Made applying special technical finishings that reduce height and increase thickness of the geometrical shapes on the surface. This fabric is highly resistant and both its warp and texture are 100% fireproof. Since it has successfully passed the most exacting reaction to fire tests, it can be used in the professional and hospitality/contract settings. Impulse is a knit fabric, made with polyester FR yarn in 30 different colors that can be coordinated with the Visual, Pixel and Bitnet collections, for a total of 120 products, all available on stock. Impulse is a slightly elastic fabric made with jacquard knitted looms having a weight of 440 g/m2. With its particular fabric construction, Impulse is suitable for upholstering with ease and excellent aesthetic results all types of upholstered furniture, including extreme-design elements. Impulse is also designed to cover panels and padded sound-absorbing furniture. The slightly 3-dimensional fabric construction, combined with soundabsorbing material, contributes to decreasing sound reverberation.
