Description

Real one-off pieces due to the oxidation process they undergo, which makes each one different from the others, the Pilotis Outdoor coffee tables are conceived as solid volumes of pure geometry. Their name refers to one of the distinctive architectural elements of Rationalism, and indicates the slender columns on which the airy volumes of the Rationalist buildings would lie. Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni and made in Corten or Cobalt Blue colour varnished stainless steel, the coffee table is available in two different heights, both with the same 27 cm diameter. An original showpiece for open-air living areas and outdoor spaces.

It is characterized by a sculptural base, consisting of three 10 cm diameter stainless steel tubes welded together and painted with polyester powder for outdoor use in the Clay, Sunflower, Rust and Khaki Green colours. Rationalist, minimal, designed by combining different materials and textures that enhance its linear shapes, the table features the element that characterises the Quadrado family on its top: a duckboard pattern. Teak duckboard, used in the yachting industry to facilitate the outflow of water, was introduced in 2018 as a modular element of the structured Quadrado seating system created by the Brazilian designer. The table comes in three dimensions, and features a top set on aluminium legs, designed as two panels that cross it on the short side. It sports a striking Lava Stone Powder finish, generating an interesting contrast between the surfaces and the Teak wood of the top. A number of plug-in accessories, such as the candle-holder and the Lava Stone tray, mean the table can be set to match the occasion. The Aston “Cord” Outdoor collection comes with a pewter colour polyester-painted stainless steel frame specially treated for exterior use, as are the padded cushions, which are covered in waterproof fabric. The seats become deeper, larger and more relaxing, while the metal frame, in a new outdoor finish, is covered with the wicker-effect cords available in two colours: Mud and Liquorice. Here, the couture detail of Tape - the piece of ribbon that holds the feet on to the body - takes the form of a metal plate in Bronze colour, a finish that is the leitmotiv of all the outdoor seats of the 2019 Collection. The system offers many elements, ideal for creating relaxation areas also in small outdoor spaces or on urban rooftop terraces: from the armchair to the sofa, from the Paolina chaise longue to the original couch open at the back, from the chair to the coffee tables, up until the stool in two heights of 102 and 115 cm, in the collection from January 2020. The Daiki family includes armchairs with a deep seat, available both with and without arms, a dining little armchair and a footstool. Created using sophisticated wood crafting techniques, the curved shell in solid teak comprises two elements joined at a 45° angle, with a sloping backrest that guarantees maximum comfort. In the outdoor version the shell offers a snug fit for the stitched cushions, and is set on a stainless-steel frame with Bronze-coloured varnished polished legs. Designed for indoor environments in 2020, Torii Nest migrates to open-air living spaces, in the armchair, lounge and dining little armchairs versions. With structural details linked to Japanese tradition, the seats play with round edged volumes, thin profiles and the apparent formal simplicity of an extremely intricate design. The varnished tubular stainless steel frame of the backrest is covered in woven cord in the shades Ecru and Dark Brown, sporting a design inspired by Vienna straw, but with a larger mesh. It sits on a base in natural teak or Dark Brown stained mahogany, supported by aluminium legs with a polished, Bronze-coloured, anti-touch finish. With its backrest in the shape of a perfect circle, and a sophisticated visual lightness that embraces the padded seat, Torii Nest Outdoor was conceived to meet various requirements, in terms of both functionality and ergonomics. The Lido family, by the GamFratesi studio, is a design that perfectly expresses Minotti’s will to create a single design for different indoor and outdoor environments: the technology and material that go into the pieces define their intended use. The Lido Cord Outdoor family is composes of a semi-curved lounge sofa, a linear two-seater sofa, an armchair, a dining little armchair and a lounge little armchair, with an enveloping design reminiscent of a comfy nest, also complemented by a bench and an ottoman. The frame of the backrest is in Bronze-coloured painted stainless steel, and it is covered with polypropylene cords in tones that can span from the more traditional shades of Sand, Dark Brown and Black, to brighter shades such as Citron, Dark Blue and Teal. All colours - with the exception of Black, which gives the piece character and a strong identity- related to images of faraway landscapes that bring freshness to this family of outdoor furnishing pieces with a look inspired by the 1950s. The Yoko seat evolves to become the Yoko Cord Outdoor project by Japanese-Scandinavian duo Inoda+Sveje, composed of an armchair, dining little armchair, bench footstool - with and without upholstery - and coffee table with top in Basaltina stone, all with a natural teak frame. The seat and backrest are strung with Ecru or Dark Brown polyester cord on which the soft cushions, upholstered with fabrics from the 2022 Textile Outdoor Collection, rest. The seat and the top of the bench footstool are strung with a balanced weave that gives the natural allure of handcrafted workmanship in line with the classic principles of stringing; a special teak frog feature has been applied in continuity with the finish of the frame to better secure the cushions to the seat and the backrest. A Bronze detail adorns the wooden frame of these furnishing pieces, embellishing them yet maintaining their silent elegance intact: it is a particular joint, located between the frame and the rear vertical legs whose coupling is enhanced by a varnished Bronze colour button.

The outdoor seating system, with its highly versatile modularity, is conceived as a dynamic mosaic, composed of tesserae in simple geometric shapes, which can be pieced together as desired, and reconfigured to suit the available space and the mood to be created. The design of the sofa base structure enables the back elements to be arranged in various set positions all along the perimeter, to design conversation, relaxation, and vis-à-vis areas, spacing out the seats with coffee tables, and complementing them with ottomans and benches. A solution capable of meeting the requirements of both small metropolitan terraces, and extensive outdoor spaces, thanks to the two depths: 83 and 98 cm. The variety of potential compositions becomes even more interesting when the selected materials are masterfully combined: the extruded aluminium base with matt finish in the shades of Ecru and Dark Brown is accompanied by steel backrests, covered in woven polypropylene cord in the same shades, according to a Scandinavian-type geometric design. Some of the seating elements feature a handy tray in Dark Brown stained solid mahogany or in natural teak, with grooves for draining water, attached to the structure. Patio offers an interesting range of furnishing accessories, from coffee tables with top in brushed fine-grain Basaltina stone, benches, and square and rectangular ottomans with extruded aluminium base, in a creative mix of materic textures and sophisticated, natural colours.
