Constructed from thin planes of vertical sheet steel at a 90-degree angle the utilitarian simplicity of the shape results in visual lightness with a strong design giving it an artistic quality that is equally appealing both when in use and switched off. The straight folded structure can be positioned on the corner of any flat surface using an integrated LED light with inline step dimmer to emit an ambient downlight that creates a subtle gradient effect with a unique calming atmosphere. Taking cues from the classic Bankers Light British designer John Tree merged archetypal references with his contemporary colourful sensibility to create the Apex Table Lamp. The folded steel shades create a peaked roofline silhouette providing the inspiration behind the lamps name as well as offering a graphic contrast to the chrome-plated bases. The round base and angled arm are complemented by a colourful shade that can rotate 360 degrees allowing users to direct light to suit their needs. Inspired by the desire to create an ambient light source with a sculptural quality Danish husband-and-wife designers Viola Heyn-Johnsen and Jonas Trampedach have created the Parade Lamp series. Inspired by the mechanics of constructing folded paper ornaments Paper Cube has a flat-pack design that is easy to assemble.
