A French term derived from silk with a rippled or “watered” appearance, moiré is an optical effect that results in the illusion of waves or the movement of water. This effect is achieved by having an opaque, ruled pattern overlaid over another. Designer Christian Lava’s studies of this effect have led to his latest design aptly titled, Moiré. Using overlapping grids of metal, this LED pendant light dynamically changes shape following the viewer’s gaze, practically coming to life with a vibrating energy. In Greek mythology, Gaia is the personification of the Earth and the mother of all life. Looking to capture the mythical and natural beauty of this Earth goddess, designer Jean-François Crochet has created the Gaia pendant light. Consisting of geometric frames of brass or raw metal reminiscent of the mountains Gaia created, the pendant uses led light to push light through the “cracks” formed. The resulting light creates a magical feeling, as if the lights peaking through were alive themselves. This geometric design combines thin chains with the latest in led technology to create a light that is both elegant and modern. I Lucci Argentati draws from nature to create a whimsical, yet modern light. Recalling a school of fish darting through freshwater, it creates a mesmerizing luminescence. Sets of sleek elements combine to form a stunning pendant with thin incisions along the bottom creating an understated, tranquil beauty. Thanks to its modular system, I Lucci Argentati is customizable and can be combined in many different configurations: from small to extra large and finished either in brushed nickel, brushed gold or white. For his work for Terzani, Nigel Coates, well known for his unorthodox approach to design, has created an engaging, unique light. Customizable groups of hand made crystal "angels” are illuminated by halogen or led lamps. What caused these angels to fall from the heavens? It’s up to the viewers to decide. Either way, Angel Falls is sure to garner attention, and generate conversation, in any setting. Design Nigel Coates. Made in Italy.

At Terzani, we spend countless days searching the globe for talented new designers, but sometimes they find us. Such is the case with the young designers Luca Martorano and Mattia Albicini (Draw studio) who approached us with the design for Calle, a fantastic new light we instantly fell in love with. It howcases our skill at crafting crystal to take the material to an exciting, modern place. Luca and Mattia worked with our raftsmen to create a slender inverted flute of crystal that, like the calla lily it mimics, can be grouped into stunning bouquets of light. Design Draw. Horizonte Bed

Horizonte Bed is the natural evolution for the night area of the Horizonte modular seating system. Designed by Marcio Kogan / studio mk27, it is characterised by the rigorous and light horizontal line that inspires the design of the entire system.  In the design for the bed, the horizon line becomes the base raised from the ground on which the mattress and headboard sit.  The base is made from a clever combination of materials: entirely in leather or fabric, or in an original mix of both to create an even more refined, tailored look. The seaming technique used on the all-leather base is inspired by the world of haute couture and involves sewing strips of leather together and folding back the edges. In the all-fabric version, on the other hand, the two strips feature a distinctive central profile that highlights their seam. In the mixed version, the two strips are coupled with a zip, presented as an aesthetic motif that allows for the practical and quick removal of the covering.  The hallmarks of Horizonte Bed also lie in its aerial architecture, achieved by means of recessed feet in polished Brandy varnished metal, as well as in the prominent rear panel that becomes the supporting element for the nightstand, available in different types of wood and either flush or cantilevered. The skilful combination of materials and exquisite tailoring gives rise to a wide range of versions: all-fabric, all-leather or countless variants featuring an interesting mix of the two materials applied to the base and the rear panel.  Horizonte Bed expresses itself as a true system, tailor-made for the beauty and comfort of the night area and designed with a high level of adaptability to meet a variety of requirements.
