TABLES AHOY Ahoy is characterful side table whose inspiration comes from the ship bollards used to secure a boats mooring line. Developed by Daniel Enoksson as an alternative to the classic pedestal table, Ahoy is a counterweight design made deceptively simple. Ahoy can be placed to overlap a sofa or armchair to provide an informal work surface or suitable for use as a standalone table or in groups of two, three or more. ENDLESS COLOUR OPTIONS At Mitab, we keenly understand the power of colour within the environments and spaces we inhabit as individuals. Ahoy is therefor available in a wide range of contemporary colour options are available through Mitab’s various colour systems – Standard, Selected and Anycolour offering over 200 possible colours. HONEST CRAFTMANSHIP The pedestal and tabletop are made of plywood produced from sustainably managed sources and faced with a durable, high-quality ash veneer. A timber stain protects and reveals the beautifully figured surface. The steel counterweight within the base gives excellent stability, contains at least 30% recycled content and is indefinitely recyclable. FLEXIBLE Ahoy is a characteristic table suitable for different types of environments in the office, the table can be used alone as a solitaire or in a small group. The slightly oval top almost seems to be tipping over, but the angle of the base and the weight inside it works as counterbalance. SOFA COURAGE Courage is a modular based system with seating elements and backrests that can be endlessly combined. The graphic simplicity comes from the design brief asking for an archetypal product based on the golden ratio. The different elements have 2 sections of fabric, creating a “bottom line” which is intended to bond the different parts together, yet allowing for the upper part to be selected in different colours or fabrics creating a varied interior. Courage have a base frame of metal, different parts for different elements. There is no visible fittings or damage when Courage is built together. The goal was to take hold of Swedese's strong anchoring in the Scandinavian design heritage and make a contemporary interpretation. This ambition is not least noticeable in the use of bent wood and the leather details, which contributed to creating a piece of furniture that works equally well in public environments as in private homes. The wooden frame is available in ash and oak. The family also includes a sofa. The Buttons wooden buttons make it possible to develop the easychairs's functions by attaching accessories. Inspired by the game of chess with their sinuous shapes, Re and Regina are the key characters of the chessboard. Their profiles stand out clearly in the white light diffused by opalescent glass. Real individuals, they play in pairs alternating spheres, cylinders and rings of light. Vertical the King (Re), horizontal the Queen (Regina). They can be placed next to each other or in different spots in the same room, be used as floor or table lamps, on a coffee table or a desk, both Re and Regina have the presence to create a context. The dimmer allows to modulate the light making it a surreal element with different degrees of intensity: an element of representation that releases energy in space when the light is bright, abstract and restful when the light is soft and low. Glass sculptures during the day in environments illuminated by natural light. Re and Regina are inspired by the history of art, from Cosmè Tura to the Flemish interiors of Jan Van Eych to the conceptual imagery of Marcel Duchamp who plays chess as a lifestyle. Re and Regina are Cartesian axes of a universe that crosses ages and cultures. In 2020 FontanaArte reintroduces these glass lamps as a sign of the expressive wealth contained in the great repertory of ideas that is the FontanaArte catalogue and, most importantly an homage to the talent of an artist who had a gift for calibrating the formal tension of a utilitarian object on a quest for unity among the arts.

Metafora was born in the flourishing creative climate of the early ‘80s, when Gae Aulenti took on the role of artistic director for FontanaArte and decided to bring glass back to the forefront of the company’s production. On Aulenti’s invitation, Umberto Riva designed a precious table lamp consisting of a conical shade in layered opal glass supported by a transparent glass base that hides the metal frame, all interlocking. A highly decorative object, produced with traditional techniques like glass blowing and other examples of artisanal know-how, reproposed today to a clientele ever more attentive to originality of design and its timeless expressions.

Inside them are flexible LED light tubes of the latest generation, easily replaceable, with perfectly uniform 360° light emission and certified also for outdoor use. The borosilicate glass is ribbed on the inside, a feature that enhances the light by making it warm and welcoming, brings out the effect of light and shadow, and allows easy cleaning of the smooth outer surface. Blom is a small table lamp by Andreas Engesvik, a Norwegian designer who has made a name for himself on the international scene thanks to his ability to instil emotions, appeal and ideas into everyday objects. Both table lamp and art object, MATRIX is the result of the essential design of the duo Oskar Peet and Sophie Mensen, established designers of the latest generation and founders of the Eindhoven-based Studio OS Δ OOS. When referring to the term matrix, we generally think of a square matrix commonly used in mathematics, i.e. a combination of rows and columns. A third dimension is added by introducing a circle that surrounds the matrix like a ring. The design object becomes a lamp thanks to a light globe, positioned internally and centrally to the matrix, which emits a soft and diffused light in all directions. The grid structure plays with the simple and pure shape of the illuminated sphere. The components of Matrix create transparencies and cast unusual geometric shadows on the surrounding surfaces when viewed from different perspectives. The Matrix project began as a system to allow for endless configurations. The base concept is derived from architectural constructions and solutions for multi-purpose situations, i.e. from the concept of form meeting function.
