Mina Mina is a waterhole close to the Patjarr Community. It is surrounded by a claypan which is a water catchment area rich in bird life and of cultural significance to Patjarr people. Warakurna is a community situated on the Great Central Road in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands of Western Australia. Warakurna has a long history of artistic expression. In March 2005 the Art Centre studio was opened, and is fully owned and governed by Aboriginal people, providing services to artists living and visiting Warakurna and the nearby community of Warakurna. The Art Centre plays an important role in the community, providing cultural an social benefits in addition to economic returns. Warakurna Artists facilitates the production and distribution of the artist's artwork. Myra Yurtiwa Cook was born at a special place called Kartjinguku, a creek situated near Warakurna. There was a warnampi wati (water snake man) from Pukarra. He had to travel to the Lirrun where the lirru yarnangu (snake people) lived to ask for help. His son was wounded and very sick. He travelled a really long way to get some special medicine for his son. The snake people were going to travel back to Pukarra with the warnampi man to help him and his son but a young man made a mess. A trio of mirrored metal objects, seemingly imprinted by a long stay in the forest and shrouded in ancestral mystery, embodies the timeless dialogue between the fleeting nature of the organic world and the apparent eternity of inorganic matter. The shapes of the collection draw inspiration from the prismatic structures of metallic minerals, and the finish is born from an experimental process in which metal enters into dialogue with nature through oxidation processes. The plant world is rich in tannins, natural compounds that react with metals to form oxides and surface patinas. Real leaves and underwood plant fragments are immersed in tannin-based solutions and oxidizing agents to accelerate and control natural oxidation, interacting with the metal to create one-of-a-kind textures and patinas with organic, ever-changing hues. The mirrored copper surfaces, marked by organic imprints, play with light and depth, producing a dynamic effect that shifts with the gaze and surrounding environment.

The Chimenti Round Coffee Table emerges from reclaimed oak planks once part of Venice’s briccole poles, their natural live edges weathered by salt, tides, and the gentle caress of lagoon molluscs. These planks are reimagined in a circular form — a loop that echoes the continuity of water. In Venetian nautical tradition, chimenti are the gaps between ship planks, sealed by caulkers with oakum and colofonia, a translucent resin. In resonance with that craft, alcarol infuses only the voids in the wood with a transparent resin that mimics the water it once knew — capturing suspended air bubbles, restoring vitality, and preserving the material’s memory. Through this process, the table becomes a poetic subaqueous section of the Lagoon, where time is arrested and the underground currents of Venice surface in form. The circular shape frames a vision of fluid eternity, invoking the submerged geographies of the city.
