Description

Designed by the British designer Robert Dudley Best in 1930, the Bestlite BL5 Wall Lamp exudes simplicity and clean shapes in line with the school from Bauhaus, which the designer was highly influenced by. With its adjustable arm, both horizontal and vertical, and movable shade, the Bestlite BL5 Wall Lamp suits well by the desk, as a bedside lamp or in the kitchen where the light needs to be directed. The Bestlite lamp design was first adopted by garages and the Royal Air Force engineering departments due to its great functionality. A feature in Architects Journal lauding Bestlite with the title of the first evidence of Bauhaus in Britain brought the lamp to the attention of the design conscious. Public demand for the Bestlite lamps soon followed and, when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 Table Lamp for his desk, Bestlite's iconic status was secured. The Bestlite design stays close to its industrial roots and true to its original design. Bestlite is held in permanent collections at both the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. Loved by architects, designers and design aficionados throughout its long history, today, Bestlite has become a contemporary classic.

GUBI Obello Portable Lamp

GUBI Obello Portable Lamp - Lighting by Gubi

Gubi > Lighting

Now available in three new luminous pastel colors, Bill Curry’s mushroom-shaped Obello Lamp continues its journey. Celebrated for his bold use of color and inventive Space Age forms, the American designer first created the lamp in 1971. After its reintroduction by GUBI in 2022, in the color of frosted glass, the design returns in a trio of luminous pastels, each finished with a glossy finish that accentuates its sculptural silhouette. Balancing softness with warmth, this palette extends Curry’s legacy with a fresh, contemporary expression.

GUBI Multi-Lite Pendant

GUBI Multi-Lite Pendant - Lighting by Gubi

Gubi > Lighting

The Multi-Lite Pendant embraces the golden era of Danish design with its characteristic shape of two opposing outside, mobile shades that enable creating a personal installation and a wide range of lighting values in a room. By individually rotating the shades, the Multi-Lite Pendant can be transformed into multiple combinations where the light can be directed upwards, downwards or exude an asymmetrical art light. The Multi-Lite was first drawn in 1972 when Louis Weisdorf did an exception to his own design custom of using multiple repeating elements. Instead, it reflects his passion for diversity. Two cylindrical shapes lay the foundation of the lamp and a metal ring encompasses it and anchors the two quarter-spherical shades, which ultimately completes a picture of an iconic design with multiple purposes. The Multi-Lite Pendant has a timeless expression that fits into any domestic setting.

Gubi > Armchair

Through pieces like the Pacha Lounge Chair, Pierre Paulin pioneered low-level living; a modern way of living and sitting on the floor, by getting rid of chair legs. With comfort as the constant starting-point in his designs, the curvaceous, whimsical and organic shapes of the Pacha Chair are conceived to serve the body, providing both comfort and cosiness. Looking at contemporary today as when it first was designed, the Pacha Lounge Chair is an honest, functional piece that brings life and character to any interior setting.

Named after the epic poems of ancient times, GamFratesi’s Epic Table for GUBI is a sculptural piece of furniture inspired by Greek columns and Roman architecture. Originally made in Italy from travertine stone, the table’s new variant marks the first time GamFratesi has worked with steel plates, which are galvanized, lacquered, and then treated with a series of hand-finishing processes to create a unique surface expression for each table. The table’s monolithic form remains, now with an industrial expression, in which a new detail can be discovered with every use. The collection brings personality to private settings and an intriguing sense of weight and tactility to public and hospitality spaces, where its resilient surfaces offer exceptional levels of durability. The varying heights and diameters within the Epic Table Collection mean a single monochromatic table can stand alone or be combined in dynamic clusters of varying material, height and color.

Unmistakably the work of celebrated architect and designer Ilum Wikkelsø, the Croissant was his irreverent play on the more traditional Chesterfield sofa, using the French pastry as his inspirational reference. First released in 1962, it captured the zeitgeist of an optimistic decade, and has been a treasured collector’s piece ever since. Now GUBI has subtly refined the original to suit today’s body shapes and give a new generation the opportunity to enjoy Wikkelsø’s vision. Available in either leather or in a range of upholstered fabrics, the complex curves of the Croissant’s iconic form are achieved through meticulous hand-stitching, and sit atop a base frame and legs made from oiled walnut or oak. The Croissant Sofa’s abundance of character makes it ideal as a distinctive standalone piece in the home, workspace or hotel lobby.</p>

GUBI Bestlite BL5 Wall Lamp

GUBI Bestlite BL5 Wall Lamp - Lighting by Gubi

Gubi > Lighting

Bestlite is held in permanent collections at both the Victoria &amp; Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. Loved by architects, designers and design aficionados throughout its long history, today, Bestlite has become a contemporary classic.

101 copenhagen > Pouf

The Toe Ottoman is an extension of the bold optimism found throughout the Toe Series, where 1970s space age design is reimagined as sculptural comfort for a contemporary setting. With its seamless form and generous proportions, the ottoman transforms a functional element into a soft architectural gesture.Upholstered in Sunproof fabric woven from Olefin, the thick, fluted texture flows rhythmically across the surface, creating a tactile expression that feels both structured and inviting. Engineered for outdoor environments, the high-performance material is exceptionally resistant to fading and enhanced with advanced UV-blocking agents, while its water-repellent finish allows moisture to bead and roll off with ease, preserving its refined appearance over time. The Stone Gray tone, a soft muted grey with subtle green and brown undertones, introduces a calm and natural character. Reminiscent of weathered stone and dried olive leaves, it enhances the sculptural form with understated warmth while remaining versatile across a wide range of settings.Designed as a versatile companion to the Toe Lounge, Toe Armchair, or Toe Flat, the Toe Ottoman functions effortlessly as a footrest, an additional seat, or a sculptural element on its own. Whether placed in outdoor lounges, terraces, or indoor living spaces, it brings rhythm, softness, and a quiet sense of futurism to the environment.

Bloom Tray, Mini - Almond

Bloom Tray, Mini - Almond - Styling by 101 copenhagen

101 copenhagen > Styling

Bloom Tray, Mini in Almond is inspired by floral shapes, emphasizing soft and organic forms in a sculptural ceramic tray in a smaller scale. Elegantly sculpted, the design is defined by petal-like forms that fade into one another, reminiscent of the different stages of a bloom from closed to open. Rooted in 70s floral-inspired design, the tray is reinterpreted with a more raw and clean expression. The smoothly curved surface is contrasted by a strong underlying geometry, while the hand-painted ceramic finish in the warm Almond shade enhances the form with subtle depth and tonal variation. A refined play of light and shadow moves across the surface throughout the day, giving the Bloom Tray a changing, expressive character.Place the Bloom Tray, Mini on a bedside table, coffee table, or desk to hold small everyday objects or stand alone as a sculptural accent. Its compact size and organic form bring a sense of natural calm, complementing both modern interiors and other pieces from the Bloom Collection. The surface is hand glazed in order to achieve the unique surface texture. The colours may vary slightly, due to that it is a handmade product.

The Sculpt Art collection is a series of reliefs for hanging on the wall as pure artistic intentions. The sculptural pieces pull their inspiration from brutalist architecture details, design history and concrete as a surface and material in American Minimalist art of the 1960s. The Sculpt Wall series are available in three different shapes and two different sizes and can easily be hung on a wall with screws and brackets on the backside.Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen &amp; Tommy Hyldahl
