KIM GORDON, Flung #1, 2021Edition of 10 + 1 APNumberedAccompanied by a Certificate of AuthenticityHand knottedWool & SilkHigh / Low CutKim Gordon is widely recognized as a founding member of the experimental post-punk band Sonic Youth, yet her work has consistently extended beyond music into a multidisciplinary practice encompassing visual art, writing, performance, and critical discourse. Since the late 1970s, when she studied at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, Gordon has maintained an independent studio practice that engages questions of gender, material culture, and the language of subcultural production.
Her visual work often draws on found garments, textiles, and everyday objects, using processes of alteration and recontextualization to examine the charged relationship between the body, identity, and consumption. Materials are subjected to interventions—coating, distortion, fragmentation—that suspend them between recognition and abstraction, allowing personal and cultural histories to surface through transformation rather than representation.
For HENZEL STUDIO, Gordon created one work within a series of three, based on the adaptation of a vintage dress treated with tar and reshaped into an abstract form. Translated into a hand-knotted textile, the piece retains the tension between material presence and silhouette, extending her exploration of clothing as both artifact and gesture while shifting it into a new spatial and tactile register.
Gordon’s work has been exhibited internationally in both museum and gallery contexts, reflecting her longstanding engagement with the intersections of art, music, and critical practice.

Cristalli collection, as its name says, is a collection based on base glazes, enriched by a vitreous layer, made by fusion, which lets the color get a particular depth and pigmentation so as to create an iridescent effect of the single color on the surface itself.
