Inspiration drawn from Tibetan carpets which were discovered in the West during the seventies, were used to complete important artistic and design research. A fascinating jacquard design as it is open to subjective "imaginative" interpretation, with magical tigers, curious guardians of many mysteries and a map featuring unknown places. A second product, in velvet, is based upon the same design. The construction boasts liseré with warp achieved using two warp beams. The second warp, with the two colours and lurex yarn serves to create specific light refraction which complements the unique and prestigious character of the tussah silk. A lampas characterised by the arrangement of diamond stitching, which, as early as the late Seventeenth Century, defined the rich decorative fabrics, the delicate lace decoration which encircles a flower, berry and tropical fruit centerpiece, a trace of which remains, dates back to the subsequent century. The textile documentation from which it draws inspiration is attributed to historians in Spitalfields, a London suburb, which, from the Seventeenth to Eighteenth Century boasted thriving textile production, producing items for the Court and English aristocracy. A twist of eclectic more common or more exotic visual patterns which recall ancient times, which come together to tell a whole new story.
