Snowgems wall design (a+b) Annalisa Dominoni, Benedetto Quaquaro Snowgems is a wall-mounted sound-absorbing system, composed of panels in shapes and colours reminiscent of precious gems; made with Snowsound technology. The panels are held in a frame of galvanized tubular steel, which is mounted on two chromed metal plates that are anchored to the wall. The panels can rotate on their own axis, and thus lend themselves to multiple different configurations. “The design of these units is inspired by the idea of a thread of differently shaped and colored precious gems strung together to form a necklace or pendant earrings”. The shapes, which are underpinned by stainless steel clips, are reminiscent of undulating sand dunes and not only evoke a sense of sinuous movement but also, thanks to the distinctive materiality of the fabric, seem to allude to the myriad grains of sand. The sound absorbing system is anchored to the wall by means of a sturdy bracket of epoxy-coated steel. W.H. Gispen Chairs have sleek lines, modern curves and a light steel frame. All chairs are sophisticated, comfortable and timeless design pieces. The Gispen collection is produced in the Netherlands using modern techniques, but retaining original design. They can be used in office, at a dining table or simply as a statement design piece. Slight differentiations in this collection adhere to the backrest, use of armrests and various colors of upholstery. Willem Hendrik Gispen and his cousin Ru Meijer co-founded the furniture wholesale company Kembo in 1953. Lensvelt invested and bought Kembo in 2014. Now the company has re-announced seven classics from W.H. Gispen to be included in the standard collection by the name "W.H. Gispen from Kembo by Lensvelt… with love ". The collection entails five chairs and two armchairs designed by Willem Hendrik Gispen (1890-1981), that were part of Kembo's previous collection. The seven models date back from the 1950s. Hans Lensvelt calls them “Evergreens”. Lensvelt proclaims “ the aesthetic quality of these chairs are exceptional. Having said that, the designs also fit flawlessly in today's interiors . ” Currently, there are 130 of the W.H Gispen 301 & 302 chairs in the reception area of the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. These chairs are not bought by the Stedelijk but rented through Lensvelt’s sustainable initiative of the circular pool.
