Fornace is an extruded terracotta ‘listello’, while Split is an evolving study on the theme of breeze blocks size, the three-dimensional dividing elements obtained through artisan productions of drawn terracotta. Split now presents five different proposals: Loop, Oblique, Circle, Blend Deco and Blend Flo. Loop is a 3D element that traces the concept of an arch to create a ‘rhythm’ within the space, allowing a glimpse of the environment beyond the viewing point.

Craftsmanship is the keystone in the Split & Fornace project, to pass down from generation to generation the handicraft heritage based on the ceramic tradition while offering new contemporary aesthetic codes in shapes, colours, patterns and tactile effects that make the past a new singular inspiration. Split & Fornace are the results of the passion, talent and attention to detail of master ceramists deeply rooted in their origins inspired by nature and the skilful use of the elements it has made available to them. Fornace is an extruded terracotta ‘listello’, while Split is an evolving study on the theme of breeze blocks size, the three-dimensional dividing elements obtained through artisan productions of drawn terracotta. Split now presents five different proposals: Loop, Oblique, Circle, Blend Deco and Blend Flo. Loop is a 3D element that traces the concept of an arch to create a ‘rhythm’ within the space, allowing a glimpse of the environment beyond the viewing point.

From the second half of the nineteenth century, geometric and encaustic tiled floors became increasingly popular as they appeared in an ever-growing number of churches, grand Victorian villas and public buildings. By the end of the century, tiled floors and pathways had become an essential feature in even the most common Victorian houses, from Dover to Aberdeen.
