Hans J. Wegner designed the exquisite pp571 Architect’s Desk in 1953 as a match to the Round Chair. Later in 1955 he designed the Swivel Chair, completing a line of exclusive masterpieces for the CEO’s office. The desk marks the beginning of Wegner’s work on combining sharp steel and sculptural solid wood in elegant and well-balanced solutions.

Although the thorough and dedicated attention of a skilled cabinetmaker is required in executing the work on this desk, the job can be done with relatively simple tools.

The Paper Basket was designed for Aarhus townhall. Wegner was assigned by Arne Jacobsen to design all of the interiors for this prestigious project. This resulted in many interesting chairs and desks, some of which were only produced for the project.

The pp75 Stayed Table is the result of an arduous design process, in which Wegner sought to maximise both the knee and legroom for those sitting at the table. To accomplish this, Wegner created a beautiful dining table with legs joined in the centre. He used geometric theory to support the solid wood tabletop with as little strain and as much space as possible.

BM1160 Hunting Table

Børge Mogensen designed the BM1160 Hunting Table for the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Furniture Exhibition in 1950. The table combines excellent woodwork with elegant metal brace bars, creating a bold and organic whole.

CH002 Dining Table

The CH002 is the smaller of two dining tables that Hans J. Wegner created in 1982. The table expresses Wegner’s functional design philosophy through an appealing solution for modern interiors. The CH002 is crafted to fit smaller spaces, and can be extended easily with two accompanying leaves.

CH006 Dining Table

At 90 x 138 cm, the CH006 is a longer version of the CH002 dining table, designed in 1982. The table, with solid extension frames and built-in grip for the two hinged extension leaves with rounded edges, illustrates Hans J. Wegner’s visionary approach to functional design. The CH006 table is versatile and can be adapted to smaller gatherings as well as larger dinner parties.
