The designer Alexander Girard drew wide acclaim with his interior concept for the legendary Miller House (1953-57), for which he personally selected each individual object. The centrepiece of the house was a so-called 'conversation pit', a sunken seating area in the living room, with built-in sofas covered in fabrics by Girard and decorated with embroidered pillows made specifically for this setting. <br/><br/>Girard's famous 'double heart' motif was used and varied by the designer throughout his lifetime. It is composed of two intersecting S's that form a continuous loop of mirrored hearts. The Shell Chairs by Charles and Ray Eames are among the most important designs in the history of furniture. Following their initial presentation at the 'Low Cost Furniture Design' competition organised by the Museum of Modern Art in 1948, the chairs were launched on the market in 1950 in an armchair version (A-shell) and as a simpler side chair (S-shell) – making them the first ever mass-produced chairs made of plastic. <br/><br/>With the debut of this revolutionary design, Charles and Ray Eames introduced a new furniture typology that has since spread around the globe: the multifunctional chair whose shell can be joined with a variety of different bases. Already in 1950, they presented a series of bases that enabled various sitting positions, including the low-slung LAR (Lounge Height Armchair Rod Base) with a geometric steel wire base, which quickly acquired the charming nickname 'Cat's Cradle' in reference to the children's string game. <br/><br/>The LAR seems to have been one of Charles and Ray's favourite designs: it can be spotted in numerous vintage photographs of the legendary Eames House in Pacific Palisades, both indoors and out. This also reveals how lightweight the chair is, and how easily it can be moved around.<br/><br/>Due to the organic shape of this classic armchair, the LAR is a striking solo piece, but it can also be paired with many types of sofas to create an appealing contrast. The LAR is offered as the Plastic Chair LAR with a polypropylene shell, or as the Fiberglass Chair LAR with a fibreglass shell that draws attention to the lively texture so valued by connoisseurs. The fascination of fibreglass lies in its irregular surface, whose clearly visible fibres make it appear almost like a natural material. The Fiberglass Chair LAR is not offered with full upholstery in order to show off the unique characteristics of this material to maximum effect. STRUCTURE AND COMFORT The structure is composed of three-layer, crossed, webbed panels of chipboard clad with a polyether foam with a density of 40 kg/m³. The seat is made of high-resilience Bultex polyurethane foam, with densities of 36 kg/m³ and 38 kg/m³, and a resistance of 2.8 kPa. The back cushion is made of injected foam with a density of 60 kg/m³, moulded onto a metal insert equipped with elastic webbing with a new compartmented goose feather filling, composed of 10% down and 90% feathers, as well as a layer of 110 g/m² polyester quilting. Anti-slip system. The lumbar cushion is filled with new goose feathers, with a ratio of 10% down and 90% feathers. The optional armrest cushion is made of high-resilience Bultex polyurethane foam with a density of 35 kg/m³ and clad with 200 g/m² polyester quilting. MAKING-UP The quilted version features a quilted cover, sewn crosswise, without any seams on the seat. A single seam runs through the centre, but it's located on the settee’s structure. In this version, the cushion cannot be turned over to transform it into a bed, and the base is now a single piece. The setttee’s base is identical to that of the original Prado. Leather is not suitable due to the quilting being too fragmented. The back benefits from an anti-slip system and remains identical to that of the Prado. As with the latter, some fabric options will be limited for the bases.

The Bent Console is born from a single plank of Venetian Briccola oak, its form shaped by the currents, tides, and decades of lagoon life. The natural edges, sculpted by salt and molluscs, remain intact — a testimony to the slow dialogue between water and wood. Flanking the wood, two bands of transparent resin rise like twin rivers — echoing the water that once enveloped the plank, and now shielding it. These resin borders cradle the wood, sealing its history and preserving its integrity, while capturing bubbles, reflections, and the silent breath of the lagoon. The console becomes a living shoreline: wood shaped by submerged time, framed and guarded by resins that suggest fluidity even in stillness. The result is an object of silent tension — where the passage of water is both honored and held in quiet form. More than furniture, the Bent Console is a living fragment of Venice’s underwater realm — where water becomes structure, and structure recalls water. In the corners, the wood grain meets perfectly, as if bending in a single continuous gesture. Through a special process, even the resin becomes one uninterrupted piece, showing no visible separation between horizontal and vertical planes. This invisible corner joint, developed by alcarol, preserves the purity of form and fluidity of line, and is also suitable for benches, tables, and similar bespoke applications.
