The Series 7™ chair is an icon in modern furniture history, designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955. The chair is made from 9 layers of pressure moulded veneer for strength, flexibility and durability despite its slender form. This is the most popular design within Fritz Hansen’s chair collection. The height-adjustable 3117 swivel chair features an elevated five-legged steel base with high-quality aluminium capped castors, originally designed by Jørgen Rasmussen in 1965 for the KEVI chair. The castor’s twin-wheeled design improves manoeuvrability, and customers have a choice of hard or soft wheels that glide smoothly on a range of surfaces without damaging the floor.

A crease in the chair’s back is inspired by a folded piece of paper on the designer’s studio table and provides extra support for the upper and lower back.
