At a time of great attention and rediscovery in the international arena for Radical Design, Centro Studi Poltronova launches as part of September Design 2018, a historical exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute in Bruxelles. For the first time gathered together, the symbolic objects designed between the end of the Sixties and the beginning of the Seventies when Ettore Sottsass is the company's art director and still produced by Poltronova today. Objects on display: the Superonda sofa, the Sanremo lamp and the Mies armchair by Archizoom Associati; Sofo, sofa and armchair, and the Gherpe and Passiflora lamps by Superstudio; the Ultrafragola mirror by Ettore Sottsass and the iconic Joe armchair by De Pas, D’Urbino, Lomazzi. The exhibition aims to communicate the irreverence and extraordinary vitality that characterized those projects at the time of their conception and which are still unchanged today. Almost off–scale toys, yesterday as today, are objects that are opposed to the automatisms of the consumer society thanks to a hybrid use that guarantees total freedom of approach.
