The name is a tribute to Alberto Alessi's winery, 'La Cascina Eugenia e il passero solitario’ (Mrs. Eugenia and the Lonely Sparrow), whose products come in a bottle inspired by a design by Leonardo da Vinci. Naoto Fukasawa developed the pure and essential design of the decanter based on the distinctive shape of this bottle.

Michael Anastassiades investigated the possibility to associate the sense of smell to elements that are usually admired only with the senses of sight and touch. The creation of the fragrances was carried out with the consultancy of one of the most important perfume houses in Grasse.
