The staircase is a precious architectural element: often today it has no longer the only function of connecting one floor of the dwelling to another, but it becomes an object of study by architects, in order to become as flashy as possible. It’s easy to keep your floors covering entire walls: just use jointed boards like the 2 or 3 hardwood layers planks. Since long time the Cadorin hardwood planks are used as walls, wardrobes, doors, room dividers, coverings… During the last edition of Made Expo in Milan of the last October, Cadorin presented the new design of Wall parquet. It’s tailor made planks to be placed both horizontally and vertically in multiple modules, so as to do assemblies with unique drawings. The planks, in fact, can cover the wall horizontally or vertically using the same finish of the wood floor or choosing in the several collections of different Cadorin lines, like Elite Planks, Tracks Planks, Epoch Planks or Pregio woods. In this last case, it’s possible then having fun to coordinate and match the various solutions.

The texture proposal is achieved by imprinting into the wood, like live sketches, the delicate flight of soft dandelion puffs moved by the wind, offering soft natural textures for a serene, emotionally-impactful well-being effect. The three-dimensional and material texture, in addition to composing refined details, achieves a hard and compact wood with particular resistance to foot traffic and an anti-slip function thanks to the embossed surface processing. The SKETCH texture is offered on a variety of wood species and with a range of finishes that enhance the design revealed in the details.
Small Primula Oak Weave Sea Foam Module

Planks laid in the small “Primula” pattern, made of European Oak with a WEAVE texture and a Sea Foam finish. The small “Primula” module gives balance and character to the parquet, while the natural grain of European Oak is enhanced by the Weave texture, which provides a pleasant tactile sensation and excellent surface grip. The Sea Foam finish envelops the wood in delicate, luminous tones, bringing to the environment an atmosphere of understated elegance and contemporary harmony.

This 3D surface tooling technique by Cadorin reproduces the multi-level pattern typical of bark. It also helps make the wood particularly strong and compact, thus increasing the ability of the surface to withstand heavy footfall. CORTEC, just like the other tooling techniques used for the Tracks collection, can be applied to wood flooring strips and planks for horizontal laying (flooring) and vertical fitting (wall panelling). The texture CORTEC can be further customised using a variety of finishes and colours: Gold or Mother-of-pearl finishes to give the surface shine and a truly exclusive look; a huge choice of shades from the Cadorin collections, from white to sugar paper or wengé black.

It is the authentic wood-working process resulting in a “three-dimensional” surface in relief that creates the pattern of the TATAMI texture. Weave working that that recalls the weft of linen fabric on the surface of the wood. All these workings conducted through an applied pressure technique make the wood particularly hard and compact and increase the wear resistance of the surface to make it ideal for every home. Walnut is one of the species selected by Cadorin to be awarded its Selected Wood mark. Felled in North America, this is one of the varieties most widely used for furniture, flooring, and facing.

Kimono

KIMONO originates from the observation of an ancient symbol: the wave pattern of Japanese tradition known as Seigaiha. A sequence of forms that has traversed centuries of art, textiles, and objects within Japanese culture, evoking continuity, balance, and movement. This simple yet powerful sign becomes the starting point of the project. The research behind KIMONO was developed within the 57-metre full custom yacht “Setteesettanta” by the Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts, where the themes of surface, rhythm, and material were explored as an integral part of the interior architecture. The first prototypes and the initial application of the flooring were developed exclusively for this project, representing a moment of experimentation and design synthesis. In the design of the wooden flooring, the rhythm of the waves is reinterpreted as a surface capable of shaping space through repetition, transforming a traditional pattern into a contemporary architectural language. The sea represents the primary source of inspiration. Its waves, with their slow and constant motion, suggest a visual rhythm that naturally expands across the surface, generating a sense of harmony and continuity. Alongside this dimension, a second symbolic reference emerges: the koi. In Japanese culture, it is associated with strength and perseverance, capable of swimming upstream with energy and determination.
