Designed in 1956-1957 the bookcase is part of the furniture of Gio Pontis private house in Via Dezza in Milan. This re-edition is produced based on the original drawings from the Gio Ponti Archives. It is part of the Molteni&C Gio Ponti Collection. Made from shaped multi-layered material with elm veneer partly with natural transparent finish partly hand-painted in white. Available in the versions with or without applied mirror.

The VU mirror is a project of Giovanni Tommaso Garattoni, a three-dimensional texture obtained by placing next to each other different thicknesses of glass slabs. Each element can be used individually or with other elements to create custom composition that can be adapted to any project’s necessities. Like many other prominent twentieth-century architects and designers, Charles and Ray Eames also sought to implement their ideas about colours, shapes and materials in the design of textiles. The 'Dot Pattern' was created in 1947 in conjunction with an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The pattern is a large-scale graphic composition made up of crosses and dots, thereby referencing the abstract paintings by Ray Eames from the 1930s.<br/><br/>The Eames Wool Blankets are produced in a jacquard weave, which means that the colours of the 'Dot Pattern' are reversed on the front and back.
