Karst landscapes are shaped by the patient work of water — dissolving, carving, and vanishing through stone over countless millennia. From the Dolomites’ ancient depths, alcarol retrieves fragments of this terrain, their surfaces marked by erosion, moss, and time. Encased in a crystal-clear resin that recalls still water, each fragment becomes a suspended landscape — a pause in motion, a moment of geology stilled. The flowing element that once shaped these stones now lies motionless, its movement crystallized into transparency. The Floating Karst Vase is a fragment of land held between presence and absence. The stone seems to hover in space, as if gravity had loosened its hold, while above it, life unfolds in impermanent bloom. The flower — fleeting, delicate — rises from the stillness of rock shaped by ancient waters. It is a vessel where the eternal sustains the ephemeral, where time pauses to let life continue. A quiet dialogue between motion and stillness, weight and levity, permanence and the passing of a petal.

CHIMENTI ROUND Coffee Table

The Chimenti Round Coffee Table emerges from reclaimed oak planks once part of Venice’s briccole poles, their natural live edges weathered by salt, tides, and the gentle caress of lagoon molluscs. These planks are reimagined in a circular form — a loop that echoes the continuity of water. In Venetian nautical tradition, chimenti are the gaps between ship planks, sealed by caulkers with oakum and colofonia, a translucent resin. In resonance with that craft, alcarol infuses only the voids in the wood with a transparent resin that mimics the water it once knew — capturing suspended air bubbles, restoring vitality, and preserving the material’s memory. Through this process, the table becomes a poetic subaqueous section of the Lagoon, where time is arrested and the underground currents of Venice surface in form. The circular shape frames a vision of fluid eternity, invoking the submerged geographies of the city. More than furniture, the Chimenti Round Coffee Table is a fragment of underwater Venice made visible, crystallized in light and stone — a meeting point between material, memory, and the timeless pulse of water.
