Peaks Down

Peaks Down - Ceiling lamp by Michael Anastassiades

Michael Anastassiades > Ceiling lamp

Peaks is a family of pendants, composed of a string of elongated cones in different configurations. The graded shading on the curved surface of each cone is as much of a feature as the projected beams emitted from each cone. It can be displayed as a single, double or triple arrangement, pointing up or down depending on the preferred direction of light. An identical inverted cone acts as a rose attached to the ceiling. When the light is off, the forms appear very schematic, as if borrowed from a geometric still life. When on, the shading changes, as light casts along the curved surface.

Vertigo

Vertigo - Ceiling lamp by Michael Anastassiades

Michael Anastassiades > Ceiling lamp

Vertigo is a pendant light formed of two elements: a simple horizontal beam with a linear array of LED light acts as an up and downlighter, with a vertical strap that holds the fixture in balance. It is this simple attachment, suggesting the hoisting of a structural beam, that evokes the iconic images of the steel construction of skyscrapers in 1930s New York City captured by photographer Charles C. Ebbets. There is no separate ceiling rose – the driver is fully integrated into the structure of the pendant and the two pendant rods carry the electrical current, removing any need for wires that might visually obstruct the design. The light intelligently operates through a touch-sensitive dimmer in the middle of the horizontal beam.Vertigo is produced in aluminium, powder coated in either black or white. It is available in two length options – 1.5m and 2m – and there are multiple drop lengths to choose from, covering all possible requirements.

One Well Known Sequence -01 - Ceiling lamp by Michael Anastassiades

Michael Anastassiades > Ceiling lamp

This collection of fixtures uses the standard unit of the light tube as a measure. Through the alternation of 1m and 0.5m modules, it creates a rhythmic language of recording space. The designs evolve as a parallel progression of rods, combining five variations of standard linear LED bulbs and metal tubes of the same diameter. With this series, Michael Anastassiades expands the compositional possibilities of some of the most structural elements of lighting, engaging the viewer in a rigorous yet playful exercise in measuring.

Single Angle

Single Angle - Ceiling lamp by Michael Anastassiades

Michael Anastassiades > Ceiling lamp

Custom patina available.Inspired by the shape of fishing hooks, this collection of ceiling lamps evokes the image of a luminous sphere captured in three different configurations. Just like in angling, it consists of simply a single, double and triple hook. As often happens in his practice, Michael Anastassiades infuses the memory of modernist design with humorous narrative and figurative qualities. He references a common, familiar object and takes it through a process of abstraction, aiming to create a pure definition of what a light source can be.

Custom patina available.Tip of the Tongue consists of table lamp, wall lamp and ceiling-mounted sconce, all which feature an interesting illusion: a luminous mouth-blown opaline sphere appears to roll down the edge of a solid polished brass base. This delicate gesture of a sphere poised on the edge of the surface evokes the familiar phenomenon of failing to retrieve a word from memory, expressing a moment of tension in the form of the design. Tip of the Tongue was launched at Euroluce in Milan in 2013. It has gone on to become one of Michael Anastassiades’ most iconic pieces.

Heddles throw

Heddles throw - Accessories by karakterCopenhagen

karakterCopenhagen > Accessories

Weaver and textile artist Karin Carlander interprets classic techniques as the backbone of her creative process. Two new designs – a rectangular rug woven from paper yarn and a fringed throw in alpaca wool – showcase this craftsmanship in contemporary pieces for the home. When it came to the Heddles throw, Carlander selected alpaca wool from the Andes mountains. These thin, glossy fibers were woven into a luxurious blanket that features a subtle ridged design. Along the throw’s edge, a delicate fringe invites a closer look at the construction process, which sees the loom’s warp and weft working together. “This analogue way of creating is a collaboration between my loom and the material,” says Carlander. “The way threads and colours perform is new and unexpected with each material. Even after so many years, the craft continues to surprise me.”

Console Table Aldo Bakker, 2017

Console Table Aldo Bakker, 2017 - Console by karakterCopenhagen

karakterCopenhagen > Console

Tranquil and seductive, Aldo Bakker’s Console Table floats exquisitely between sculpture and furniture. It depicts the simplest concept of a table: two columns and a surface. The legs are an elongation of the line created by the tabletop. The tabletop and the base of the legs have the same width, making them equally important to the design. The distance between the legs is not fixed, but can be changed as preferred, adding to the sculptural quality of this piece.

Cache Console Paul McCobb, 1952

Cache Console Paul McCobb, 1952 - Console by karakterCopenhagen

karakterCopenhagen > Console

The foundation of the Cache series, part of Paul McCobb’s extensive Planner series, is a beautifully simplistic and easy table with slim and straight steel legs, stripped from any details or ornament, leaving only small drawers that can be mounted individually or grouped on either side of the table for small keepings. The series is complimented with the matching Desk Organiser with two drawers and a shelf supported by a steel frame. A prominent figure in American mid-century design, Paul McCobb conceived the Planner series in the 1950s, a modular furniture series that brought modern design into middle-class American households. The aesthetic attribute of McCobb’s design is sleek and unadorned and at the same time warm and approachable. With its versatility and purity of form, the Planner series became one of the most successful commercial furniture lines of its era.

CAMPUS - Low rectangular coffee table

CAMPUS - Low rectangular coffee table - Coffee table by Natuzzi Italia

Natuzzi Italia > Coffee table

The Campus coffee table is a sleek, low-rectangular design that combines glossy champagne-painted metal with tobacco ash wood inserts and a glass top. This contemporary piece, meticulously crafted by Mauro Lipparini, embodies an evergreen aesthetic and a modern sensibility. The Campus collection features soft, harmonious lines that create a refined aesthetic appeal through continuous movements. This versatile coffee table offers a wide range of shapes, materials, and sizes, making it an ideal addition to any living area. Available in sets with laser-cut steel sheet legs, these tables are characterized by their polished finish and galvanic nickel coating, complemented by liquid paint applications that enhance their contemporary appeal. The metal base is adorned with tobacco-painted solid ash wood panels, adding a warm, natural element to the overall design. The top of the table can be customized in various materials: veneered and brushed tobacco elm wood featuring full-flamed veining and curved edges; stopsol glass treated with a rear-lacquered shiny green finish for a mirror-like effect; or Calacatta marble with a shiny green finish, further enhanced by water-repellent paint. The Campus collection is designed to seamlessly integrate into various living spaces, offering both functionality and style. Proper care includes maintaining the glass top in its pristine condition, ensuring that it remains free from scratches and fingerprints. Regular cleaning of the metal base should be done with a soft cloth and a mild cleaner to prevent any damage or discoloration. For optimal longevity, avoid placing heavy items directly on the glass surface, as this can cause warping over time. The tobacco ash wood inserts may require occasional polishing to maintain their natural luster. By following these care instructions, you can ensure that your Campus coffee table remains a stylish and functional centerpiece for years to come. For further information about maintenance and customization options, please refer to the manufacturer's guidelines provided by Natuzzi Italia.

Egeo

Egeo - Table by Borzalino

Borzalino > Table

This series of small tables with distinctive irregular tops with convex edges takes its name from a sea dotted with fabulous islands, with safe ports and bays where marble and precious wood have been traded for centuries. In Egeo, the positioning of each element is intended to achieve a meditative state of contemplation of Nature, as if Zen art had been applied to furniture.  A special place is dedicated to each material and form, in a choral effort towards tranquility and harmony. Nature is represented from a minimalist point of view and – at the same time – giving space to its changing moods. Egeo is an archipelago of possibilities.
