Our Allée ADA Sconce brings the beauty of bent plywood to lighting with an ADA-compliant design that gently washes the wall with light. Available in birch and walnut. We pair these authentic shades with solid brass and wood components to create a refined, enduring design.  Namesake: In Japanese, Umi means the sea or ocean. Namesake: Loie Fuller (1962-1928) was an American pioneer of modern dance. At the height of the Art Nouveau movement, Loie emerged as its living embodiment. She was the daughter of an Indian father and an American mother. Under the codename Madeleine, she was sent from the UK into occupied France to aid the French Resistance. The messages she sent back to London as a wireless operator behind enemy lines significantly aided the Allies success.

Baker died in 1975 and received military honors and tributes from the entire artistic community in France.

Fiercely independent, Hetty worked alone from her modest desk in a Manhattan bank, value investing and making low-rate loans with her personal reserves of cash, helping bail out Wall Street, New York City, and the United States economy in times of need. While she was modest and unwilling to participate in New York City high society, those who knew her admired her warmth, wisdom, and wit.

Variations and imperfections in the concrete base are inherent in its artisan production.  Namesake: Muriel Wylie "Capi" Blanchet (1891-1961) was a Canadian author best known for her seminal Northwest boating memoir The Curve of Time. In 1926, when Blanchet was widowed at the age of thirty-five, she packed her five young children into a twenty-five-foot boat and they cruised the ragged, wild, perforated coastline of British Columbia for fifteen consecutive summers.

NUANCES by Patricia Urquiola is a captivating collection that showcases the designer's expertise in sustainable materials and innovative design techniques. This new offering from GAN features felt, a natural material known for its warmth and malleability, but also its potential to be transformed into something entirely unique. The starting point was felt, chosen for its inherent qualities of being warm and malleable. However, Patricia Urquiola sought to reinvent this traditional material by merging different colors and densities of wool fibers. This innovative approach not only achieved a stone-like appearance but also introduced a level of transgression in design that had never been seen before. The collection comprises three rugs with distinct patterns—Curve and Round—and a pouf, designed to be versatile and adaptable for creating various architectural geometries. The color palette is equally diverse, encompassing natural tones inspired by the earth: stone gray, rose and burgundy (Burgundy), green and blue (Naiad), and earth and lava (Volcano). NUANCES embodies fluidity in its design, with lines that open and close, colors that blur and focus. This collection is not just a visual experience; it also engages the senses through tactile interactions, making each piece an intentionally sensorial and artistic journey. Each item within NUANCES is meticulously crafted by skilled artisans using traditional hand-sewing techniques, as is characteristic of all Urquiola designs for GAN.
